If hes already reared a pair of YBs you may have paired him too early, and birds normally start to cast their flightswhen sitting their 2nd nest

I changed the front of my lofts last year and used decking planks running the full length of both lofts putting them 3 boards wide. It gives the birds more confidence too landing straight out of flight onto the board and plenty of room for the YBs when sitting them out to have a look around.
