there is many selfish fanciers who put all there years dreams in young bird races ,as they want to win prizes against the top fanciers in clubs who probably use young birds as education for a life time of winning ,not just one race .there is many young birds had more chemicals pumped into them as young birds there system just breaks down because there sick ,yet they still prop them up with more chemicals . agree there is many who enter sick birds ,probably think it gives them a advantage of winning if everyone birds go sick . maybe its time when fanciers should have the option to keep there young birds in there own basket .

he is distraught with it ,a thousand questions and no answer ,he was talking of packing in as greenlands said its every year a fortune spent to cure them only to down again.
-
well said ,maybe its time to change this sport and introduce maybe any age races from the off with all this early breeding etc,i visited a friend only the other day who is at his end with his young birds all sick.
-
may it be fluoride which is added to the water systems ,effecting the birds natural system whilst drinking treated water ,
-
yes its true peregrines love to be tv stars :-/
-
The rspb should leave all owls alone ,but to be honest there not a good maker for them ,they tried with the breed and release scheme years ao but found that everyone was breeding and releasing them and the cash flow was stopping as many people could breed and release them for fun .along with the forestry commission had this practice stopped .
-
pmsl your right they dont hack them in this country ,there all wild >
-
that could be one reason ,or maybe there is a need to introduce new blood into the pure peregrine ,like they used for the red kites in wales they imported if memory serves me a german red kite to had vigor to the red kites also make broods bigger and have since used spanish and sweedish red kites to add to the gene pool for these birds .
-
my money would be these peregrines at symonds yat are exotic hybrids and would be both sterile ,but used for documentary purposes also used as a money maker with tourists ,which im sure will bring in more cash .
-
The RSPB have many spin doctors in times of CRISIS when money is in short supply ,or a death of a peregrine ,they have a endless supply of donations to help them with the cash . This is where the unions should be coming from across the country ,the use of a SPIN DOCTOR to fight our corner. The R.S.P.B. have many powerful friends in the government and will i am sure keep them on the red list . there is too much money involved now .
-
im told the peregrine had not been shot but had digested the pellet through eating a bird ,which had been shot ,that is if its the same young female 010 from derby ..

The R.S.P.B HAVE DECADES OF PROMOTING PERCY AND OTHER BIRDS OF PREY ,with there new species introductions now nearly on a yearly basis ,goshawks ,sparrowhawks ,sea eagles, red kites and percy and the like .They keep blaming land owners and pigeon fanciers to the public and have done for years . i would like to see a campaign of B.B.S.K ,BRITAIN"S BIGGEST SERIAL KILLERS,WITH PERCY OR A SPARROWHAWK SAT ON TOP OF A PILE OF THOUSANDS OF DEAD BIRDS,THATS THE WAY TO HIT JOE PUBLIC .A PICTURE SAYS A THOUSAND WORDS SO THEY SAY . or a nice picture of the garden with plenty of bird feeders placed around with dead birds all over the garden and the title "would you bring home a serial killer "with a sparrow hawk sat on the table.with a couple feeding the birds saying "do you think global warming is killing the birds. im sure someone who is good at photo shooting pictures could bring the picture to life . who would publish such pictures i do not know . but fighting the r.s.p.b and natural england needs the full backing of the R.P.R.A. AND ALL OTHERS to try and resolve this issue ,because fanciers have been asking for years and they do nothing. :-/
-
the rpra have been constantly asked by fanciers over the last thirty years to take some action, yet they put their heads in the sand and keep taking the monies and pensions ,and do nothing for the everyday fancier ,whilst their birds come under constant attack .resulting in many fanciers walking away disheartened by the carnage caused in some cases of daily attacks ,they will keep taking the monies until there is none left to take . :-/

Pigeons are a common pest and whilst not protected by law must still be treated humanely when being controlled under the DEFRA governance. Causing them harm or prolonged suffering is illegal and again the removal of pigeons needs to be professionally undertaken by trained individuals under a DEFRA general licence. many pest control people use and train mainly Harris Hawks for the removal of pigeons people see as pests ,sadly this can be lost racing pigeons who take up home on buildings etc.but the general use of such a bird is not to kill the bird only to scare the bird off . only a idiot would knowingly attempt to take out someones racing pigeon . you cannot train a falcon to just kill pigeons ,its natural to them they are predators, its whats built into them .when the time comes they will take what they need be it a pigeon or some other food source. :-/

i can assure you chris they would pack it in ,birdage costs for our channel races have risen or birdage 60 a short race same day ,no one sends to the long races ,normally im not paying that much to send me birds short race wins everytime ,the club entered not one bird to the longest race this year to costly
-
the sad fact is if the rpra tried to levy many fanciers would be moaning i cannot afford etra monies to pay for a carrier service to get me birds back ,this is all ready seen in most cases of reporting stray pigeons ,they dont want them back at £30.00 ago.sad but true .try putting birdage up in most clubs by ten pence war breaks out threats start ,in my club theres only two of us that works full time ,rest are retired or umemployed ,mention prices going up and the tantrems start most clubs are like this ,i only want to race a few birds thats what the rpra would be up against ,mention subs say to £50.00 a year everyone would pack it in .
-
let the rpra sow what they preach with there rules ,they should be telling fanciers ,we will get your strays back for you ,will they change there stance on claiming lost birds ,will the compulsory stamping go out the window ,if the rpra work for us ,now lets demand they help us get our birds back ,but then i some how think they will say there your responsibility and not ours
