brilliant austin someone with a proud history of national diplomas from france ,i would love to get back to that kind of race program with three races and more birds in each ,oh and forgot to mention the two nationals back together again . sartilly /clermont 3000 birds , reims /rennes 4000 birds and tours /nantes 1500/2000 birds now that would be racing would it not ?

the thing is danny that from penzance you would be flying the same distance as cockburnspath /eyemouth and in a west wind you/we would be further behind, jmo.

les i have never said that a percy can catch a pigeon at level flight but can outrun one no probs but pigeons are better at manouvering, percy catches them in a stoop normally catching our beloved pigeons off guard .surprise attack .

crap post i have watched my birds getting hit by percy training(stoop) ,soon after lib splitting them up some heading for the cover of trees the rest scampering away in all directions at FULL TILT ,then percy turns and chased them and caught up within a few hundred yards no probs and all this about 50 yards off the ground so as i have said if you havent watched it happen then dont coment thanx, ps it never got any but did outrun my healthy fit young birds giving them a head start .THIS IS FACT

well les ive been in this wonderful SPORT NOT HOBBY longer than most on here (33 years) and i used the word mob as its the only way of putting it for the ordinary fancier out there(but ther very carefull they dont get too close to percy) ,and i do read up on the ways of bop's ,and will agree that a percy will catch and take a pigeon in a straight line without the stoop ,and also have witnessed a sparrowhawk on the tail of a pigeon at full tilt until they both went out of sight maybe 100 yards .

i'll answer you whitty , most of my birds sent to our inland race are trainers and one or two with a couple of pound on as well as its a fed duplication race .I think like some of the other posters, do away with these inland NATS races as feds/combines could easily do them as they used to do . and to all them out there stating it gives the new starts/novices a chance to compete at national level ,i say no probs they can but over the water like it used to be ,the holy grail A DIPLOMA FROM THE NATIONAL ,SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF ,not an easy one from the coast (my opinion) TEN A PENNY .

i know that a sparrowhawk does hover but it does circle high in the sky occasionaly, this is when my birds head towards it and they seem to usher it away ,ps i have better eyesight than most .isnt that right frank?
