a few years ago they had a nice midweek club down southampton they flew from eastbourne 98miles. its folded now it was a good training toss for birds going at the weekend. when you mention turning north for some races its seems some people would sooner not fly at all than turn north. if a pigeon can fly across the sea why cant it fly north just my opinion.

why cant you have a club that flys both routes,

they have a nice lib site at pompey as well

hello, just looked at the marking stations for the pau old bird classic race. there is no marking station for salisbury on the sheet only poole and frome.

my father in law has a good few grizzle roland janssens in his yb loft, the only thing i find if you lose a grizzle off the top you notice straight away if you have 4 grizzles and 20 blue bars you always notice the striking colour pigeons.

hello, my daughter has a ex racer as a pet hes march 92 he is feeding a big yb at the mo on looking at him tonight he feels abit thin on the keel, is this normal for a bird of 15 it might be just old age as hes had a good innings, or is there anything i can give him to perk him up abit, many thanks mark

As for Vic I have never met the guy.... but the simple reality that he might like a tipple, is not to say he isn't Knowleable! Not all, but the vast majority use that as a poor excuse to belitte or write him off. And the other simple fact is as Spence says 'Good pigeons, breed good pigeons, and further as Masserella said on a TV doucumentry on pegeons 'Buy the best doesn't mean that they will breed the best ... but it cuts the odds down considerably. Now he bought the best, not only the birds that Won the big ones, but the birds that bred it! the Brothers, sistera nd uncles etc. So to say that by buying the best is a sure way of breeding rubbish is incredable.

roland read the above again. all i can do is breed a few and see how they go. my father inlaw had a kit of 6 off louella when they arrived they seemed far to young,

wiley. we will see how they go this yb season pretty birds mean nothing but for the money he paid they have bred him a few nice ybs how they go time will tell.

roland, my father in law had 4 ybs off chris little last year as yearlings they have bred the best looking ybs he has had in many a year, they were not over priced either,

theres a fair enough comment roundo but when starting up with the prices some people want for birds where do you get better birds at working mens prices,

you can only win a 1st prize with one pigeon ask someone who came 2nd in all the other races more than lightly no one can remember. multiple timings are killing the sport for new starters and novices. only my opinion though.
