I know am not alone with my plight but it's hard to stay motivated I hope all cunning plans bare fruit .

I know it's all been said before but I have never expreanced anything like this , sparrow hawk hen hit my hens today in flight and clung on to one despite my best efforts ,I could not find it although the crows were going bonkers above the cover was to dence . So after wintering 32 birds now after the pine Martin on the 30th of Dec and half a dozen flights at home and 1 ten mile chuck I now have a grand total of 8 hens and the 1st race on the 16th of April I Carnot see a way forward for not only myself but the sport in general Good luck All.

As some of you will know a Pine Martin killed my 16 race cocks just after xmas , after a lot of soul searching I have now got 4 cocks back from a friend and decided to carry on.As today was so Spring like I paired them to my best 4 hens leaving the other 12 hens frantic in the yb loft , l have re done every appature on the loft with 8mm wire mesh , as of now the beast is still at large fingers crossed. good luck all for the 2016 season

Worked all day yesterday and covered every gap and all vents with 8mm mesh got 1or2 little surprises, for it if it does return which I think it will . The birds came well enough i sent 9 and got them all; carnt get my head around the low vels when N O S F Birds were doing 1500S I was 74mile and doing 600S ? maybe the the distances aren't a true reflection of how far the birds actually have to fly to get into inverness
