young bird national 2013 8.20pm pitch dark my second bird arrived talking with lads at clocking station quite a few experienced the same with birds coming after dark

aken wullie av got one it got damp (the docking station) thought i better replace it but its been sitting in the cupboard with heater pipes and appears now to be fine its coming up on screen ect so heres hoping i will try it out with field pads mora fingers crossed

The internet full of everything needed just pick your preffered method and give it your own tweeks then visit a few good local flyiers lofts you will pick up and be given knowledge that would other wise take you 50 yrs to learn as they had to do to learn it you will find the top flyers are very helpful and willing to provide you with great knowledge not only on flying but on every aspect required to become a respected flyer including the most important HEALTH aspects and great easy cures (things that have been learned and passed down to them and would take otherwise forever to stumble upon) i for one especially thank one great guy that helped me throughout the year his advise was great and his stories even better i have not only got good advise but earned a good friend cheers

i started racing young birds this year which i purchased from local top flyers (not top sellers) all were put on the darkness system and raced every race with good results/wins best young bird club averages and lochgelly fancier of the year i choose nine of the youngsters which had flown every race and on darkness for yb national returns were 2 on the day and 6 first thing next morning \1 loss they now have all come through the moult are are looking very well till now the darkness in my opinion has benifited them i would sugest a big reason for so many losses is down to breeding/selling not darkness just look at any pigeon site /paper champions champions champions for sale many from lofts that dont even fly just sell the only way any sport survives is with new ideas techniques lets be honest everyone wants to win if its down to the darkness that so many are lost ect the guys who oppose darkness and dont do it have nothing to worry about and if they believe that the darkies wont fly good as yearling then non darkies should be taking all the yearling/old bird trophies although this doesnt seem to be the case i think its a matter of opinion and certainly dont believe it cruel in any way if the birds are looked after properly

guys the loft is immaculate and a steal at the price i vewed in person just to pssss maself off even more lol

This was my first year flying and started with young birds Rather than go for strains i purchased birds from proven lofts at local sales as well as being gifted birds from top distance flyers i had a good start with results kelso 2nd club 5th w section sedgefield 1st and 2nd clab 3rd w section ripon 1st 2nd 4th club 2nd 4th 7th w section wakefield 1st 2nd 3rd 4th club 8th w section 97th open yb national 7 out of 9 returns timing in at 19. 21pm and 20.09 pm only thing now is dont know what am going to do at weekend now haha
