i have a bird who has new feathers breaking out but i have noticed blood coming from 1 or 2 of the quills anybody know why this happens is it normal and if not how do i resolve it. any advice please people

i watched a documetary on pigeons a few weeks back and they used some sort of small gps system and a small camera on a few birds to pick up information on the birds route home was very interesting to watch
