Have heard of the Irish renowned distance strain of racing pigeons 'The Walkingshaws' and had handled 2 of them i would love a pair or 2 to try out, but your correct in your assumption , i have never heard of limerick tumblers , unless you mean a glass of Guiness , so kiate please do tell me and the other interested fanciers , how do these birds perform ? many thanks Mark

    stray birds

i picked a bird from Goole when i went up to Billy Wilson and sent it to Hull to get it home , i treat all pigeons that come in as if they were my own . I do it because birds can make a mistake but one mistake doesnt make a bad bird

    stray birds

I think taking the birds nearer home reduces strays just been kicked out from loft to loft and end up in town centres increasing there population , and encouraging more race birds to join them , keep the stray return up ( good on you ) i take stray N.E.H.U and SU birds from Scarborough up to Sunderland , many times thankless but i feel that i have done my bit to keep the sport going
  7. must be me then ( imagines pigeons with muffed feet doing a riverdance over there corn ) ;D

  23. Have to agree with J.Bambling pigeons need the correct amount of fuel to do the job too much then there too slow , not enough then they fail. Racing pigeons all have homing ability it's either poor , good , or excelent. Breeding from proven birds doesnt decrease the amount of loses because they breed just as many duffers . I suppose with the price of buying pigeons now and the high price they demand , most go straight to stock untested because of the high prices they go for. As for pigeons finding food and water in a basket , they dont need training to do this it's natural .
  24. Is living near a motorway an advantage? Only if theres a Burger King or KFC drive thru
  25. i hop you win your last few races , then you'l have more than a few good memorys and go out on a high , all the best Mark Kettlestring
