birds will carry anything they think is good nesting material , some bits they pick up and sometimes reject it , my birds bring leaves and twigs in when there on the garden , sometimes they blow in to loft and they used them. Nest building comes natural to all birds ( except cuck-coo's )

seems you have done the right thing , get some iodine solution for wounds , it will keep the infection out , i had a yb scalped looked bad but its feathers have grown back

i have had heard of it been mentioned to me by other fanciers , but i have read the fruit bat report ,ok there mammals but to get a allergic reaction and end up paralyzed , then all had to be destroyed not good so thought best to ask if anyone else had any problems and have they continued to have a good healthy flock of race birds after it's used

they were Brought over here from a lass near sligo i believe, a red and a checker wf by a friend of mine , she was very reluctant to part with them , they were class , but he packed up , and i never got a feather i imagine from the type there were they would be kirkpatrick in them

Hi Billy thanks for letting me visit and our chat ( not that i got a word in lol , only joking Billy ) , Glad guy was appreciative , glad to hear bird returned had to fly 10 mile up like from Hull but better to fly from the south than north , if more folk did the same there be more fanciers , many folk pack up when an old favorate goes , or cant put up with the huge losses
