  7. they'll come in when there hungry , should of let them out hungry when there this young feed them by hand get there confidence and they'll become easier to manage sounds like your over feeding

  10. no point in lining it unless going to insulate it with polysyrene however timber with joins in can leak if can afford it id put upvc cladding round loft keep it waterproof and looking good for many years and will save painting it every year

  12. no big secret but i paired the hens to me to get them to not pair together , also dont over feed them as they'll start to look at each other , and i fly them to v perches never had any pair up yet other method is to put balls on floor only time balls are out is when feeding and watering cleaning
  13. nice birds thanks for sharing mis marked birds arent up to show standard due to odd colouring or missing colour Blaz but ideal as pets
  14. well id say to start with 12 pairs is ample so would need a 8 x 6 or 8 x 8 , which will hold 12 boxes

  16. yup be alot cheaper to build yourself , have you any thoughts on how you will eventualy race your birds and how many your wanting to keep as this will dictate the size of your new loft the adverage size for a natural / widowhood ( old birds ) loft is 8 ft x 6ft or 8 x 8 if wanting a corridor .

  18. would like to add Bert Braspening feeds the same all year round no upset birds from changing his mix
  19. this be good i feed my own mix ( like a super widowhod mix but with more linseed ) nearly same as rest of year untill first flight is fully up then ill start adding more barley to it building up to full barley 2 weeks before pairing
  20. theres a vast amount of good fanciers with good knowledge and ailments / diseases is where alot of experience is gained and been able to talk with a vet will help us all and also the vet with our findings , as you can see most try to find evidence rather than buy a cabinet full of medicines

  24. to my knowledge it was the paramixovirus that became available again through comobovac not parathyphoid , and why use either vaccine without having parathyphoid diagnosed ??? both vaccines for parathyphoid have draw backs as only tackle specific strains and the live vaccine also passes on parathyhoid to healthy birds through the droppings
