  1. Its sad that the first thing most vets go for is Baytril! Doesn't matter what the critter is, bird, rabbit etc if they don't know what the problem is then give it Baytril!

    we'll be there
  3. If you follow your youngbirds around with a scraper where will they yb's gain there imunity from?
  4. Personaly I think its the best way Paul. Also if i put any late breds in with older youngbirds they are weaned into a basket for 10days to build up imunity before going in with others. Then anything that goes back goes.
  5. Prevention is better than cure! Vaccinate for PMV but more importantly allow the YB's to build a good strong natural imunity, don't clean them out until you are ready to start training them as thats were the imunity is gained from and any yb that goes off colour, don't pamper it, bin it!
  6. It won't do the birds any harm witholding griz/minerals for the period of treatment. The main thing is they get plenty of minerals and probiotics to rebuild imunity after treatment.
  7. 60 old, 100+ yb's
  8. Johnny's always raced a good bird!
  9. eastcoast software has them on it!
  10. mules and canaries want to be moved in for the winter and hung out to sing in the spring and summer.
  11. there are many fanciers, friends and family lost each year and they will always be remembered,
  12. if this is your first season there will be many ups and downs but don't try and run before you can walk. Breeding will be a learning curve, then keeping your youngbirds healthy and getting them fit will be the next, once they are flying well then educate them, maybe give them a couple of races then keep them back for the following season. Good luck with them! Phil
  13. mosaic hens should have a good laceing and the edgeing should be as dark as possible.
  14. i think there are approved clock repairers listed in the RPRA rule book but Linells def do service them.
  15. just a blue bar but may carry silver.
  16. exactly my thought!
  17. where did you get them from Ray?
  18. I like the cock but wouldn't entertain a hen like that with no laceing.
  19. still no snow here!
  20. I agree Tony, i've seen National winners that have not bred anything of note! Young stock can only be selected on methords other than the basket and eyesign is one of them!
  21. I was with Bill on Sunday, he if listened to can demonstrate all the reasons behind the theory but it still takes the right management to get anything out of even the best bird!
  22. Whats happened Jimmy? A sad day!
  23. any snow your side of the mountain Bill?
  24. the vents shouldn't be a problem unless you have a solid platform outside the loft at loft floor level, the rain hits the platform and bounces up through the vent!
