Leroy, why don't you offer some youngbirds to other members in the spring to race for you with theres and see how they do? You can put your rings on and transfer them to whoever races them and i'm sure you could make an arrangement to have any back if you so wished although it might be better to see if you can find somebody local to you to try them so that you could go and see them home yourself. Jason, can you tell me how it worked please as I would be interested? I do seem to recall though you had the birds way to forward in the moult for racing, what is your planned mothord for racing them this year? Phil

over the last few years i've just spent so much time looking after others its time i got back to the birds! I was sec of Midland Show racer society, Chairman of British show racer society and sec of race club, final position will be passed on this Friday. Time for me, the birds and the family again!

only lost 1 member, he only joined 1/2 way through the youngbird season because he thought we would get ets grant, now resigned so he won't have to pay oldbird fees! Will then prob reapply for youngbirds or if he thinks grant approved!

i've just sat and read this thread and find it interesting that the people who recently have been knocking and hyjacking sales havn't commented! My feeling about this is that if sellers have nothing to hide then why lock the thread but there maybe a case for questions to that thread being screaned before going live to allow the seller to answer genuine questions. birds on open hole get street wise to the hawks as do birds that are excercised well every day. My neighbour shuts his birds up for the winter and then lets them have an open loft for 2 weeks before training begins. During that 2 weeks he will lose at least a dozen to hawks. Mine are out for excercise then in every day and none have been those have been hit just a latebred that wasn't flying well enough! Phil
