good question debbie,, its a proven fact that when "the wind is in the east its neither good to man nor beast",, if you look at nature and east winds this statement is true,,, when theres a chilly east wind blowing , you wont here many birds chirping happily outside ,, even a dog will go to the door have a sniff then come back in ,, even yourself when its a cold east wind it seems to bite in to you,, and its colder and stronger up in the air ...losses in difficult races proove this also ,, allthough birds may race well enough in east winds , they wont hold their form long as it burns up more of there" fuel "therefore" the tank" is decreased.if you look in to it more deeply youll find that old statement very true
