  15. Sorry mate no ,was just discussing this with a couple of guys at bonnybridge. They were most enjoyable and went down well with fanciers from all over. Cumbernauld has not been in existance for a number of years now Rab Smith
  16. As long as we both agree he is alive and well Falkirk will do me mate.Frank you have a good point but its not just short races that are disasters now a days. Love to stay and sort things with you mate, got a feeling it would not takes us long to put things to right. We could always give the fanciers who dare disagree a couple free tickets to see ELVIS Nite
  17. When you are flying sometimes less than 60 miles across east to west or west to east of the country, you will clash big time with pigeons flying north and south. You can argue this is supposition, but so was the suggestion that Elvis works in Tesco and we all know he is on night shift at the Cumbernauld branch.so lets no discount anything. Lol Keep talking but do so for the good of our pigeons.
  18. Frank, It is niave to think there is no outside eliments involved here. You are spot on we make our mind up on how we keep and train our pigeons, and to that end some will be better at this than others. However though some fly the west there lofts or birds are every bit as good as though who fly in any direction, yet it would appear there losses are greater. Looking for a way to race that inproves our returns, so the guys can build a team.It goes without saying some fanciers are better than others, however no one seems to be exempt from disasters these days
  19. The education we give our young birds is all importent, thus it my be argued if we are making mistakes with this we may be paying a terrible price. Each to there own but there may just be something in this. I do however take you point about poor quality of pigeons.
  20. Have to say you got a good point there mate
  21. This has been a good discusion, one which should be continued over the coming days and weeks. However lads lets not loss sight of the fact we do so for the good of our sport and, all our benifit.
  22. I agree but think we all want whats best for returns. If losses of young birds continue it will no matter if your shortist flyer of have a big overfly. This is not change for change sake.bit of a Liberal myself so will site on the fence and would go right down the middle. However after the first few races or at the 100 miles stage i would race on Fridays or Sundays. With the amount of birds in the sky on a Saturday,we should use the nut and Basket on a Saturday. For a sunday anytime race, or Monday with a teatime conclusion where possible, when weather dictates
  23. We can discuss and try and make the best decisions possible for our birds, however more than ever we will need a degree of luck in order to reduce our losses in the coming season. Would argue fundemental changes to the way in which we race when it comes to days of the week. It matters a jot weather we clash with NEHU in north east England, or the birds of Lancashire in north west England This is the main arguement, it matter a jot who we clash with, the point is we are clashing, and it will take fundamental change to stop this. Happy days
