you cant have split liberations if you go down tht road you need two transporters then who gets libbed first it is then not a national just another race you cant liberate birds with the other birds on the same motor they go crazy in the baskets as they know what happening

a couple of years back at wetherby the almond valley liberated alonside the pentland and had a great race before we went i went over to the breakaway east of scotland motor and said get up with us the more the merrier his respose was we cant liberate with you we are in the rpra i pointed to his motor and said them in there dont know what you are talking about i think at that point it was the saddest thing i had heard and summed up modern day racing

you are right alex and am with you all the way the sport is visibly dying in front of our eyes put a post up earlier in the ybd seson with a suggestion to join together in small groups to get at least the ybds trough to ensure full transporters the next season waste of time no takers whatsoever

i agree with bobby you had to be there and see what went on traprain was formed by members of the old east of scotland fed who over the years were sickened by the way things were going and formed what was to become a very good club but were attacked at every turn by people who you looked on as friends luckily we had a great president in the late great dale newcombe and treasurer g whitson who just wanted to race pigeons and drove the club forward i agree whole heartedly with the post but some of the people in power will never give it up

i remember it well our first stab at the young bird national didnt make it on to the result but i remember how excited me and my brother in law were waiting for them great memories look at the birdage too fantastic

a new member joined traprain and i was trying to show him how professional we were did the result he actally won the race only thing was i put in the wrong lib time and the birds were doing over 8 thousand yards a minute doh

when i was the secretary of traprain birds arrived home phoned round the members with time for the clocks loaded the computer and all the gubbins for doing the result went to the club and my clock was sitting on the kitchen worktop in the house doh

when my mate brian johnston flew beside his dad the great edmund johnston his clock was on the walkway when his bird arrived his dad jumped up when brian went inside and locked the door till he timed then let brian out pure class

the same guy had been gifted a pair of pigeons by the late great dale newcombe at the clocks one day one of the birds had won the race lifting all the pool monies dale remarked i cant understand it those birds have done nothing for me tam looked at him and said so thats why you gave them to me tell you what give some good birds and i will make you famous

a guy in prestonpans had a guy visiting his loft and as he was showing him round the visitor said tam taht water dish says dog on it tam said thats ok pal my birds cant read i nearly pissed myself when he told me

aye like a hole in the heid if it happens the sfa will change the goalposts they will never deduct points like the rest got they have waste millions on numptys with no thought for the future why feel sorry for them

me myself when i first started my mate made me a basket which had a sliding lid on it as i was going up the hill at the carter bar its awindy road looked in the mirror and there were the birds walkig about in the back window as i pulled into the layby there were several pigeon men standing watching me as i opened the back doors to release them what a beamer doh

one of the tranent club members a few years back got up at the crack of dawn to train his pigeons basketed the up put them the boot then jumped in his van and drove to the carter bar some 50 miles only to open the door to an empty van they were in the boot of the car at tranent classic i oud never have told anyone lol

its actally near hawick found it a good racepoint plenty of open space and height

well done guys fantastic race both young and old birds along with the xmas race shows what can be done in what has always been an ultra competitive forward thinking fed

got one back from two weeks ago minus its ets ring why do they do it ?

went and got gift stock pigeons from martin (aye ready) in grangemouth thanks a million mate fantstic pigeons great guy great set up all the best for the future
