  1. i am a straight fancier and call from the belt, i asked a question and stated "without causing a row". not my cup of tea breeding wise but that is some YB as the pic shows.i have another one here bred down from chocolates and my kids asked me for some before. thats why i asked. if i thought timbarra was ripping anyone off i would of said, but fair play to the guy, gone out of his way to offer this YB.if you don't want it or not interested butt out.there are other guys advertising birds for 175 bred from "national winners" , my ass how long has nrcc been a nationel.maybe the insecurity of other fanciers comes from within. and timbarra has answered my question fully, thanks tb.
  2. Timbarra, very nice yb. can i ask a couple of questions without starting a row. is there any chocolate blood in him (likely to breed chocolates) and have his parents bred anything to do well racing or breeding?
  3. yes agree stuart wilcox.
  4. heather sounds like high cocci count not YBS.
  5. i know what i would rather have shame i am full
  6. these were going for 700 euro plus on pipa recently a name for the future.
  7. Why? i first had staf van reets nearly 20 years and if they looked like that they would be gone look at superstars van reets totally different .if you saw that at a auction would you buy it and with no pedigree could be from anything
  8. crackers
  9. i am more of a staffy than that bird and i have a pedigree too looks like it came off the tower.
  10. Very true too, looks seem to be everything, especially at auctions. Winners are great but only if they breed winners. I've been to sales where the winners make top money, but then the parents go for a lot less, what would you want in you lofts, a trophy or birds that breed trophies??? I could show you hens that you would not give me tuppence for until i tell you what they have bred, and Vandenabeeles too!
  11. Davey, Head up my a*se here this morning!!! Wittenbuik was actually credited with 12 x 1st, 3 as you say provincial. My confusion was with De Turbo, who although he was ace bird and then runner up he only won one, as did the Golden Gaby.
  12. A very good point on this "family". Once spoke to Peter and asked what was the major factor when bringing in new blood, his reply "they win". Many lines and many strains in his family though, sort of family where you can cross without knowing it!
  13. No it should not matter, but its great to say that they have a "direct", even if it breeds nowt. My own experience of Wittenbuik lines is not good. In my eyes his reputation is built around a few birds, and what did he win 1 x 1st i believe??? Much better lines to be had, at a fraction of a cost and usually outside of his lofts. Although they sell well on Pipa, the prices are not extortionate as some families, maybe that tells you something???
  14. Grit is the best but if it gets damp birds won't touch it. Other way as Superstar said above just put milk in the drinker, i would suggest half pint to 5 pint drinker. Also worth noting if they have laid soft shell eggs, remove hens from cocks for week or two so they can get their calcium levels back up otherwise if they get in egg straight away they could end up with a serious calcium deficiency and will result in poor ybs as they will be drinking so much.
  15. You won't go far wrong with the Dave Hawkins birds, winning well through out the country.
  16. Lovely looking cock, if you have a hen same way bred PM me!
  17. They bred anything for you Davey???
  18. All these birds are direct from Gaby Vandenabeele, which is obviously going to heighten the price. I saw some on Pipa and were averaging 2300 euro each. As 4/5 year old birds they should be selling on what they have bred and not where they were bred!
