Same here re the short tosses IB.I took 1 old cock and my y/b's on there 1st toss about 6 years ago now and let them go in strathclyde park ( About 2 miles from where my loft was ) and all the y/b's landed together but never seen the old cock again :-/ You just never know what happens to them

Sounds more like a peregrine pearse if it's hitting them in flight as the sparrowhawk is more of a surprise them merchant while they are on the roof of the loft

Had all the birds out in 2 baths this morning and they loved it ;D Also got the other end of the loft painted and all the rubbish burned aswell so thats the place all neat and tidy for the racing starting in a couple of weeks 8)

I tried darkness for the 1st time last year 1st round on darkness 2nd round natuaral and the natural y/b's never beat the darkness once in 5 races

Not that long back up from the loft and it's blowing a gale and pi**ing down and i could hardly walk back up the park from the loft because of the wind ;D ;D ;D

Have to have mine in a compound and dont think i would move them to the back garden if i had the chance as i love spending time down there during the summer.Bit more work in the winter having to carry water down every day and the feeding once a fortnight but the craic is great down there during racing and you can sit and chill out with a few beers and wait for the birds with a few club members ;D ;D ;D

Not in any rush as the back and other side dont get much rain anyway still to be done dont get much rain anyway

Just back up from the lofts and it is a great day painted all the front and 1 side of the y/b loft just a pity i have to go to wotk this afternoon or i would have finished the other side and the back : but if it's dry tommorrow i'll do it then ;D Lovely day for the birds getting out to enjoy themselves aswell and they certainly did and mrs hawk satyed away today aswell as percy so that was a bonus ;D ;D

Well i'll tell you a wee story about a pair of y/b's i got gifted to me last year and i was told if i looked after them they would do well 1st y/b race 1 of them came up the park and as i was working the wife was there to see them in as i have ETS but this pigeon landed on top of the aviary and sat there for over a minute before she came in : result 2nd club (beat by a yard) 7th west section 12th open in the fed 7'000 birds (she was all pools and acc aswell and the only bird i pooled as i was sure i would get her :'( :'( :'( ) then come the 4th race it's nest mate turns up to win the club from nearly 500 birds so gifted birds certainly played their part for me last year

Rained all morning here in lanarkshire and then cleared up about 4pm this afternoon and turned out lovely ;D ;D
