  1. Young rollers won't roll instantly, and they tend to tail ride before they somersault. It usually takes a few months for young birds to roll. I have some young show rollers out flying and some of them have started to roll, one is doing a series of somersaults at one time.
  2. ;D yes miracles do happen eh ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  3. Much better than powder getting up your snozzle. I read in BHW about putting vinegar in their bath water to rid the birds of lice, tried it and it doesn't work. I shall stick to the Van Verminex ( or whatever it's called these days). It costs about £10 a bottle.
  4. Lice is a definite no-no when showing pigeons. I use Van Verminex every two to three months or when needed, just add a drop to the perch where the bird sits, and the nasties die and drop off the bird. It is also kills flies too. It's really good stuff.

  13. Although it is a lovely monkey, it really isn't me as I can't be quiet for any longer than...ooo.....10 seconds. Admit the fact that you love learning about dilute ash red chequers. Shall we move onto reduced? ;D
  14. If I have a say in which one I am in the pic, could I please be the one covering its ears, at least then I can rest my ears from all your cackling, I can hear you all the way down here ;D ;D
  15. Hi Steph, apparently another room has been offered, so the pens should be single tier this year. Here's hopeing eh!
  16. If one bird manages to win five NPA certs under four different judges then the bird becomes a champion of its breed. Unfortunately, there are many fanciers whom won't support a show if NPA Certs aren't on offer. I personally think that if the classes you enter your birds into are full up with quality birds and you manage to win a card then that is an achievement. If you are able to win a colour class or best of breed then you feel on top of the world. Whether or not NPA Certs are on offer at Blackpool is irrelevant to me, I shall still be showing my birds there.
  17. belly button bar
  18. There is also The Northern Roller Club Mark; a show club catering for show rollers, but it does hold classes for flying type rollers and has many flying type roller breeders as members. They hold a championship show at the beginning of January every year in Braford. They also supply rings.
  19. Oh how ridiculous, there are so many awful things happening in the world and somebody has to complain about feathers! What is so enviromentally unhealthy about feathers anyway? The mind boggles. Keep your chin up Chickadee, I'm sure it will all blow over (no pun intended)
