If anyone have information about the jealousy system I would be great full to read about it.

I am wondering how much other fanciers are paying to race their birds from France, our first channel race is next week and I am told it will almost £2 per bird.

Does any one know how to get a bird that has been reported on the Isle of Man. It was at Folkestone on Saturday. Makes me wonder how it managed to get there as all the birds were flying into the North East with a brisk wind from a westerly direction. I have had this problem before but the bird came back while I was trying to sort it out. I am told no one races pigeons on the island. I don’t think Amtrak collect from there. I have tried to contact them this morning but I am told to ring later or no one answers so I thought in the meantime I see what I could find out on the forum. The person who reported it is a non-fancier.

Thanks for the replies, it seems to have been a bit iffy. -
Does anyone know what the weather condition were like on Sunday morning at Wanstead Flats as I was told it was impossible to liberate there, yet not far away birds were liberated starting at starting 7.20 am.

I have heard that the NEHU is going to take until January next year before any rules regarding the ETS are known. Everywhere else is go ahead from the first of July. I wonder why this is with the NEHU.

Thanks for the reply, the one I need is for the first Home Doctor Microscopes that came out, could have been five years ago but they have changed the camera now although it just about looks the same it has a different CD. It went by the name of ICM532 does that mean anything to you. If I can use it I would like to buy it. Have you any more info. -
Has any one got a CD Rom Disk of the first ever Home Doctor Microscopes that I could buy a copy of?

In the Homing World last week there was an article on page 81 that read the NEHU has voted that ETS will be accepted in 2008. As I have not heard anything about this I wondered if this was definite. :-/

How do you mean (both owned by the same guy)

I don’t actually have a T3 but I am thinking about buying one and wondered what the service cost would be, I saw one on the Belgian Ebay and the starting price was about £90 in our money but no bidders. It was described as two years old and serviced so this made my wonder how soon they needed a service. The T3 seems a costly clock to maintain so I might just stick to my STB but thanks for the information.
-
Who knows the exact cost of the T3 service and how old does the clock have to be before the service is due.
-
Where do you get them at, have you the address and phone No. as my source has dried up.

I got my answer sooner than I thought, Peter Bryant must have sent his message strait after I sent in mine. So there it is.

I have just been looking in the sales and wanted and noticed a Unikon ETS System for sale belonging to person whose club had bought ETS for all the members, so there fore wishing to sell his. Reading the reply and advice emails sent regarding this clock it seems most fanciers are very happy with this system, but a course it is in Scotland. I have raced pigeons for more than forty years on my own (one man band) and see nothing wrong with the system and I would really like to have the ETS. We have had very little change in the way we race pigeons for years and I don’t see it has done us any good, just like workman's clubs many did not change from the sixties way of running them and many have now gone down, them that changed have survived. Who are the people who actually decide if we can or cannot have the ETS, it does not seem to be the members in general. How is it ok for one-loft races in England but not for the rest of us? It seems like children we are told we can't have it so shut up about it. I once saw about five years ago a column in one of the pigeon weeklies about someone who was going to a meeting who thought not enough people against the ETS would be there so he took some to make sure he had enough to knock it on the head. I noticed the ETS for sale in question was quickly sold but I am not allowed to do this, I can buy one but that is all. So who does say what I am allowed to do with clocks.

Herbal treatment for canker

I thought people who use Add-herb might have had some comment, but maybe they are not the type of herb that might keep the nasty things at bay. -
Herbal treatment for canker
Elvan Willgrass replied to Elvan Willgrass's topic in Natural Remedies & Supplements
The trick is to know when a bird needs canker treatment or not, my birds have not had any treatment canker wise for at least 18 months as I did not race this season because I like racing out of France and I could see trouble brewing. When I check my birds I see quite a bit of activity in the Trichomonas Gallinae to give the full title but don’t confuse me with someone who is in the know about this sort of thing because I am not, I just might have a grasp on the basics. Again how do you know if treatment is needed or maybe the bird's immune system might have taken over? -
Herbal treatment for canker
Elvan Willgrass replied to Elvan Willgrass's topic in Natural Remedies & Supplements
I have tried Trikanox as Darran McFaden describes but I did not give it a good enough test. How do you know Shadow, if the bicarbonate of soda is actually keeping the canker down, do you test the birds or get them tested. I will most certainly give a try as it cant hurt anything and cost little. I have raced birds since the early fifties and still at school and usually the simply things are the best. Bicarb and things like that was all that was available and the birds still flew 600 miles maybe as good as they do now. -
Has anyone tried any herbal treatment for canker and if so what, and did it work or not. I once did try using a Gem product but I think I should of made sure that the birds had as little canker as possible before I started to test the herbs so the test was not conclusive.
-
They have not raced since the end of 2005 one year as I did not race because of the bird flue business, and have been treated for nothing. Coccidiosis is almost none existent and worms etc nil but Trichomanosis is fairly high in most of the birds although they look and exercise very well, but I would not race them with canker like they have. Maybe you can tell me where metronidazol and ronidazol can be purchased as I can only get the usual stuff for canker.

Would anyone consider treating there birds for say canker whilst in the moult. In other word would it affect the moult?
