jacks i did not say it won the 08 national. It can win the 09 old bird first then an 09 yearling race, followed by the 09 young bird national, and then in 2010 it can win the yearling national again. Dazza

Joe you must be really really lonely!!! Dazza

joesy under your system is it right that the same bird can enter a yearling race two years in a row. There is no justification for allowing it and i am English. I could breed the wonder pigeon, first with its 08 ring it wins the old bird national then with its old bird ring again it wins the yearling national. Now cover up the 08 ring and it can then win the youngbird national with its 09 ring. What a brilliant bird! Hang on though the because its not finished yet now using the 09 ring again it can win the yearling race again next year. Genius its now won 4 nationals but now that i want to sell for a million which bird do i sell the 08 bird that won 2 nationals or the 09 bird that also won 2 nationals? Allowing anyone to give a pigeon more than one identity is open to abuse as far as i am concerned. Dazza

I bet he's doubled up!!!! Dazza

Thats pretty sick Joesy. True colours et al. Dazza

Congratulations to you joesy61 your smugness and cockiness has shone thru and i hope your arrogant attitude has stirred up enough people to get this practice stopped for good. To any self respecting pigeon fancier this is totally wrong and should be outlawed (if its not already). Dazza

I applaud anyone for taking the time and effort into promoting pigeons in schools or anywhere else - i just feel that all the positives were weakened by the ridiculous notion that in their words the sport has halved in size because of 'bird flu' how ridiculous is that - no one had heard of bird flu until 5 years ago.
-
A typically badly researched bbc news item, 'the demise in pigeon fanciers is down to changing fashions and BIRD FLU'??? How many parents watching that crock are gonna let there kids get involved with the sport. Dazza

Greenlands are those two Darren Peters or yours?

Darkie my friend i don't know how you have come too the conclusion that i am moaning? Quite the opposite ets has other benefits not just on race days and i fully accept that it is the future. It is irrefutable that ETs v conventional clocking is unfair. As regards sputniks stall traps quickstarts i couldn't comment - won 64 races in last 4 years with birds going through an open door and without frightening them!!!! Thanks for the advice though.
-
I agree better efforts now would be spent raising the finances so that everyone can have it.
-
Tsykes - your birds were at least 2 mins in to the town before anybody else - except the 2 races you didn't win!!!! I won an ets system last year and will use it for Nationals and will use T3 in club and fed races, so i am not anti ets, however the equation is simple ETS v Conventional clocking is not fair. Dazza

good birds come from all corners. Personally never had any welsh birds yet and only ever bought one from scotland. That was from Ralston Graham a son of Eskvalley Mark. The son off him has five 1sts to date.

Hi John wasn't any intention to take the p**s as i've stated before i thought it was a way of funding some aspect of the sport without asking members directly for cash or raising subs etc. Its not a problem it was only an idea, now consigned to the bin. Cheers Dazza

Frank Paul John thanks for the comments the general feeling is that most see it as too much hassle. If i thought that there was any momentum behind it i would do it for nothing providing i wasn't out of pocket and it didn't take up too much of my time. Cheers Dazza

Vallance first of all i only posted to see if there was any interest and if anyone thought it was worth looking at. I just see it as we all pay our bills and get nothing back whereas this way something goes back in to the sport. In terms of what i would be paid it isn't 2% for pigeons and 3% for me it is 3% in total, i.e the one percent left would probably cover my costs and time. Looking back at my first post i probably did not make that clear. To other individuals or businesses i will take the full 3%, i was just willing to put back 2% into pigeon racing. The idea of putting it on here was just to get some feedback as i would think that there would be a good cross section of the pigeon fraternity on this site. My thinking was that if there was a consensus of opinion that it was something worth looking at then i would approach each ruling body and discuss it with them as it would not be for me to decide where the money was spent. As the responses have been mainly negative, maybe it was a crap idea and that will be the end of it. Best of luck with the new job! Cheers Dazza

There is demand unfortunately the buy to let products have all but disappeared and none of the lenders want to lend more than 75%. Nothing will change until they start doing 90% lending again. Dazza

Ok forget it - wasn't looking for abuse, though probably should of expected it.End of thread. Bewted no it would of been £36K in total.

Thanks for the feedback, if no one is interested then fine, i just thought it would be a way of getting some money back in to the sport without it coming directly from everyones pocket if that makes sense. dazza
