  1. we usually lock them up till january/feb time have terrible problems with sparrowhawk/peregrine attacks otherwise, they always take the best as well.
  2. ho wolfrey hope you have some luck with yours
  3. yes nice pigeons one the same way bred won for us last week
  4. hi paul the weather forcast i seen was for a strong south west wind up to 20 mph so will be a hard race, but the weather looks fine but you never know.
  5. anthony i have to agree the geraldy was to be state of the art but racing this year had not been has good, and for birds to escape from this does not add up has entry for pigeons is only from front which is impossible to then open. With regards to combine i don't know what happens there but members of the wnr never know anything or make any decisions thata why there is a lot of ill feeling, if the management are to blame i don't know. Take lillers for example your fed was mandated to this day we haven't received any notice about this from wnr fed only that all birds are to be taken to a national amrking station.
  6. thanks me mate and the same back
  7. hi paul haven't heard that all i know is we got to take birds to national marking station in own baskets which is wrong
  8. with regards to transport i have mixed views all be it its an old transporter the results from welsh south east this year leave a lot to be desired, lots of bad races could be transporter or something else, looking through reuslts all last year doing 50 mph this year mostley 40mph or less and not very good returns you make your own conclusions. maybe new transport but second class racing
  9. hi paul well done today on winning
  10. hi paul the winning time was 1 hr 20 mins for 65 miles we won the race i believe
  11. hi anthony it happens on all transporters but sometimes never reported just look at your own from maidstone old birds the birds were released 4 mins in front of anything else which is fact but never reported just look at past pm on this site. Not just 10 birds but the whole transporter and we call this a combine race not sour grapes but something is going wrong.
  12. welsh south east combine let go at 8.20 at ramsgate
  13. alan lovely pigeon there, probably out of most peoples price range bidding already at 1500 euros
  14. hi i had same problems, had info through post next day from one e-mail from another 2 no replies the third sent info no postage expected me to pay makes you wonder if they want the business.
  15. my apologies seen on one topic it was bournemouth so posted same. Where exactly is bourne.............
  16. the up north combine were in bournemouth started lib at 8.05 last lib 8.50 they probably clashed with birds as well.
  17. welsh south east national lib at 8.35am at maidstone
  18. as most replies they are all individuals, some win as yb's some don't as there are only 4 or 5 prizes in every club for example our club has 5 prizes over 12 races so only 60 prizes with over 600 rings sold, so not very good odds for a yb to win a prize. I look for consistency and all have to fly a race or two preferrred which then sorts the chaff out. But there are exceptions one late bred cock in 2004 no training or basket work as yb raced as yearling to win 4 firsts, in prizes every race to Cholet 343 miles and scored in national.
  19. hi nigel with regards to lillers the national are going to ramsgate and are not changing. the welsh north are going to wait-and-see ( i think thats the wright spelling) paul
  20. welsh north south east let go 7.00am at epsom
  21. first for me to here paul, where did info come from...............
  22. if all young birds have raced to 100 miles and home in good time they deserve a place for next year, its not always the yb winners that make the best yearlings more often than not its the consistent pigeons they are the ones to look for.
  23. CONTINENTAL RACING BACK ON! Tuesday 14th August 07 1600 hrs We have just been advised that the continental racing ban, in the main, has been lifted and DEFRA will licence races from the continent but excluding Germany and the Moselle region of France. I have not as yet seen the specific licence conditions but I am told by DEFRA that the liberations scheduled for North West France can now go ahead until further notice. Any organisation wishing to change their race programmes to take advantage of young bird racing from France should contact the Racing Support team by e mail ideally with their requests (lindasmith@rpra.org or donnarees@rpra.org ) or telephone 01452 858244 or 245 regards Peter Bryant
