  1. better than letting an egotistical ambitious individual with no knowledge of the rules or constitution of the SHU becoming president of the SHU in our centenery year, who incidently left the sport under a very large cloud in the same season, it took a lot of guts for john barlow to do what he did for the SHU only to step down the following year to make way for svp ian noble, john barlow was a great president with an impeccable manner and character and second to none when chairing meetings. someone on here suggested that they should alter the rules making a minimum of twenty lofts to form federation, why dont they go ahead and propose it at agm of coarse they also realise they will eventually lose a lot more members through doing so, if some of us put more effort in to helping others within the sport maybe we could survive a few more years instead of trying to self destruct.
  2. if there was no seconder for this proposal then the officials of your club should not have allowed the proposal to be discussed and as such it can not be dealt with at any further meeting be it special or continued agm or whatever name they intend to give it, and thats a fact please refer to item 40 of the shu constitution and shu club rule 8. this matter can only be dealt with at your next years agm and will then requires a two thirds majority vote as this is an alteration to the clubs recognised activities in my opinion this is a very short sighted proposal and could have serious consequenses which could not only affect birdage and running costs for your club but should other clubs within your fed adopt the same ruling then it will surely increase fed costs which could possibly come back and bite the proposer and the people who support it in the ass. congratulations to kieran on winning shu young fancier of the year and good luck in the coming season.

  4. the tubular heaters use 60 watts per foot so a four foot tube uses 240 watts which means they will use app. 1kw per 4hrs, probably the cheapest form of heating you can use, i have used tubular heaters under the dog beds in the kennels for years, the dogs certainly never complained.

    su strays

you can report any strays on the new shu website try ( shuonline.co.uk ) and you should find a link to report strays, i beleive the shu will send you an email back informing you of owner and send a report to the owner by mail.
  6. i was really looking for your personl opinion on why you think john barlow should be removed from office, after all he did not chair the meeting in question, perhaps if he had the meeting would have been handled better, as for flaunting the rules john barlow has not broken any rules and does not deserve all the crap being said about him he is delegate for wos who meet the criteria to be a federation according to the constitution of the shu, some would have you beleive the council have the power to undo this well the truth is they dont, the council can only interprit the rules, they do not have the powers to change them and thats a fact. as for posts 8, 9, 10, 13, 27, 30, i have read them and i think it is hardly fitting for a junior vice president of the shu to come on this forum and give his interpretation of the shu constitution knowing that it is contrary to the interpretation provided by the shu solicitor at the request of would you beleive the vice president and the junior vice president, (solicitors letter read out to council by vice president ian noble ) do you honestly think if the council voted to interpret the constitution the way the vice president would like us to and we ended up in court do you think our errors and ommisions insurance policy we pay for would defend us knowing the council had ignored the advice of their own solicitor, perhaps we should be more concerned about the conduct of our junior vice president who has the cheek to ask john barlow to step down and lanarkshires number one delegate to step back from council when i am not aware of either of these gentlemen coming on this forum to mislead anyone. as for the conduct of the council i never witnessed any misconduct by any of the council members during or after the meeting but i am sure the vice president will have endeared himself to council by referng to them as clowns and the meeting as a circus. perhaps you could tell me how i could possibly be mandated how to vote by my federation at this meeting when there was no agenda other than "irregularities" it would appear only certain councillors were informed of the real agenda.(by the way i did discuss the matter with my president and as he is the only one who can call meetings he obviously did not feel the need to based on the fact he trusts me to look after the federation and shu interest.) while we are on about being mandated from your federation and the fifer saying delegates are messengers i would like to express my own views on this matter, how can delegates possibly be messengers when situations such as this meeting keep arising, in my opinion delegates are there as representatives of their federations and their job is to look after the interests of their members and the members of the shu as a whole, that means every member of the shu not just the chosen few. the only mandate i have from my federation is to uphold the rules and constitution of the shu and i challenge any councillor to state otherwise, i have no personal agendas or ulterior motive for being on the council, my only wish is every councillor was given the same mandate as my own from their federations (by the way contrary to what you might hear on this forum the majority of councillors do have the interests of the shu and the members interests at heart.) please dont think i am having a go at you bruno, i know from reading your posts that you are a supporter of the shu and the sport in general, unlike some on this forum you ask the questions from the appropriate people when possible and try to get to the truth. cheers. PS. as a matter of interest who told you i was at the meeting??????
  7. do not understand your last paragrah bruno perhaps you could explain it to me as i cant get your point, thanks. PS. what do you think needs puting in order within the shu council????????
  8. . which scott gibson are you referring to frank is it the one in the shu or is it the one in the rpra or is it the one that is in all the camps, the man i know has far too many hats for my liking and he probably has a face to go with each of them, his good friend andy miller said earlier he played the joker for a fortnight was it the joker of spades by any chance as you say frank a spade is a spade with scott, as for yourself frank you made your choice to leave the shu and i dont see anyone trying to force you to come back so why dont you make the most of what you have and leave us the members to worry about the shu. perhaps its about time the shu brought out a rule that you can only be a member of one organisation to be a member of the shu, beleive it or not there would be a large portion of the shu council would have to make a serious choice. BELEIVE ME THIS IS A FACT, personally i think this would be an excellent idea espescially since cumbria region of the rpra have made it plain that they do not recognise the shu, therefore there is nothing to be gained by the shu recognising them ( food for thought eh! ) 48RTC.
  9. glad to hear that you are an shu member alf, however do you not think that taking the whole council instead of a small party of relevant councillors to a rather pointless meeting where the cumbria region delegation thought it was a one way street and they were not there to reach any resolutions, they suggested that we change our rules to deal with suspensions, in fact they would prefer that there was only one organisation for the whole of the uk.and we are not just talking about scotland here we are talking about nehu, nwhu, ihu, whu in fact mr blacklock stated that he personally had no time for the confederation. you and others on this forum can think what you like but i can assure you the delegation that john barlow took to gretna conducted themselfs correctly and in the interests of the shu and the members, furthermore this was only a discussion and any decisions would have to be made by the whole council so i dont know why every one is getting their knickers in such a twist. 48RTC.
  10. it would appear that you have a problem with john barlows choice of delegates, may i suggest you write to the shu expressing your concerns with regard to this matter, furthermore it might be more important to check the information you are receiving prior to posting as you will find that three other councillors attended the meeting excluding the vice presidents, remember to sign and date your letter or it will not be dealt with, that is provided you are even a member of the shu which would not surprise me if indeed you were not as it would appear the non members of the shu are more concerned about shu business than the real members. just as a matter of interest who would you suggest should have been invited to attend this meeting????? by the way i am an shu member and proud of it. 48RTC.
