  2. Hi, I am just in the process of starting up so as such don't think ive got anything to offer to swap? Would you split them? And would you be prepared to sell them & how much? I can't commit to anything but i am interested to find out. Where are they from originally? Many thanks

On NRCC site under 'News' it is saying that their computer system cannot understand second day timings hence negative velocities. On 'News' they have put a couple of corrected provisional results. Well done every bird i reckon.
  4. I know when you first asked this I said id always been told 20 birds to a 6x6 section as a rule. Reckon you could go 18, dont know what others think. Dont overcrowd them mate, you'l just be askin for illness. Could use both sections year 1 if you are keen for more?
  5. Id say a good feed at night and a little in the morning is fine. You are right not to keep them too short though, its an important time when they are growing. Id rather them not rush in than stunt the growth. Plenty of time to get them trapping like bullets! A little bit older I always used to feed 1 1/2 oz per bird per day split 1/2 oz in the morning 3/4 oz in the evening. A cheap pair of plastic kitchen scales will sort this out for you, also its an easy way to +/- a bit when the food needs 'tweaking'.
  6. Hi Mate, personally id get them confident in the evening before you let them out in the mornings. I think their body clock tells them they've got all day ahead of them and they are more likely to roam. Of course you want them to do this but maybe when they are a bit more experienced. Good luck mate they look great.
  7. Ian, cheque posted this evening, can you let me know this arrives with you ok?, many thanks
  8. I used to use Entrodex from Vydex, i would recommend it. Id agree no to the salts
  9. FAO LENWADEBOB/GOONER thanks guys thats great of you, have sent pm, thanks again
  10. lot 8 £20 please >>>>done Ian
  11. Im pleased to hear you say that Mick, i looked at their lofts carefully, seemed their top spec was same as Ecco mid spec. Nearly went for one though but decided on Ecco at last minute, due in 6 weeks, cant wait!
  12. If i go ahead with it about a dozen i think, top local flyer offering me some. Just got to weigh up me options!! Also i aint going to have loads of room so looking ahead a couple of years these latebreds (by then only lightly raced if im lucky) will be taking up a dozen boxes? Its tricky, i just want to get my pigeons tho!!!!!!
  13. Thanks Geo, i think its just the fact that come next year i might be breeding off 7 month old birds worries me a bit. Good to know experienced fanciers are saying thats ok though
  14. sorry fifer dont think i explained myself. my decision is, do i get latebreds this year (august when loft is sorted) then breed of these latebreds in 2011. or do i hold off and start off with a draft of YBs in spring 2011?
  15. Hi All, when would latebreds be too late? Im looking to start racing 2011 and had always thought get a team of YBs bought in March ish 2011. An option is to get latebreds now and breed from them myself 2011? Due to my loft being built I probably could not get the late breds till 1st week of August, is this too late? All thoughts welcome please, thanks!
  16. Hi Mate, I reckon im a little behind you with my loft so I am waiting and starting with ybs 2011. Ive gotta have a couple of trees cleared in the garden & get all cleared up and finish gettin the loft ready so i am being patient!!! Its hard though, its all i think about at the moment! If your loft is going to be ready i think you are doing right, where are you going for your latebreds? I hoping to sort a couple of dozen ybs to be with me late march ish next year
  17. Few years back i was advised no more than 20 birds to a 6 x 6 section, purely down to the good of their health. I reckon you might be looking at 8/10 pairs OB's max and 18/20 YB's. I'm now in the same position as you, I am getting my loft ready for next year after a few years (forced) away. I am limiting my space deliberatly, dont overcrowd them and manage them easier. Good luck
  18. Hi everyone, great site. Returning to the sport after a forced 7 year break, can't believe how much has changed! To ETS or not to ETS eh! Having myself a new loft delivered this summer to start again Ybs 2011, can't wait. Look forward to chatting with you all.
