  2. Hi, Sorry maybe i used the wrong word, what i should have put is, THE RED HEN IS PAIRED TO THE MEALY COCK. Sorry for the confusion. I am genuinely cutting down on my numbers and work load, i have established my family of pigeons no need to carry lots of stock birds.
  3. Hi, You did the right thing, it is best doing what is right for YOU, At least this way you still have a team for next year, and you are not looking at empty pearches every time you go into your loft. Train them well as yearlings but remember the North and East winds early on in the season.
  4. My tip (for what its worth), When weaning young birds about 24 to 27 days give them 1/2 a canker pill, I do and i have had no problems with canker.
  5. Hi Sammy I am selling most of my stock birds because next year i am breeding off my race team because i have establish my family of race birds and i am cutting down on my numbers.

  9. Hi all Sent 24 to Poole with the Harrowden fed, Got 23 back missing 1 ex widowhood hen. Funny race birds took 30 mins more than expected.
  10. Hi If your starting from scratch best fly natural with the idea of flying roundabout next year, If like you say you are starting with young birds dont stress them out to much in their first year. The good thing about roundabout is that you will find that you get some performances from both hens and cocks if they are healthy and motivated.
  11. Hi Good comments from everyone, Food is the biggest factor here, Keep them light on food, but you could try and get them use peanuts after they get the taste of peanuts, and they get use to the container, and you calling them they should DIVE in. Hope this has been some help. :)
  12. HI all Just been confirmed on the local news that the ban on Pigeon racing and shows has been lifted 16-02-07.
  13. Hi, I look out for east winds early in the season, not to fussed about cloud, for old birds, But young birds ideal conditions for me would be, not to hot little cloud and slight breeze, time wise early in the morning or after 2.30 in the afternoon.
  14. Hi Try to get them on your side, a bit of banter about football rugby cricket ect give them a can of coke now and again, if you show them your OK your life with pigeons might be better with them on your side. Hope these comments have helped you.
  15. Hi, I give my young birds as much as they want high on beans, When they are flying well i govern the food so they trap well when they land, food being a great trapping aid no more waiting about for young birds to trap into the loft.
  16. HI ALL JUST A FEW WORDS TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. STARTED PIGEON RACING 3 YEARS AGO IN THE NORTHANTS AREA, FLYING WITH THE HARROWDEN FED, FLYING ON THE SOUTH ROAD. I ENJOY FLYING THE ROUNDABOUT SYSTEM. CHEERS.
