If this is the Davies and Son from Seaham, then I bought a couple of Roland Janssens from Joe at the Telford Show and they're excellent. I've also got some Jan Aardens YB's on the way as well, so I'd highly recommend them, I found Joe to be very genuine, knowledgable and fair.

This grizzle came in tonight, a bit light but eating well sat in my training crate. I'd be grateful for any info. Thanks in advance.

No worries, though I'll probably need some help from people such as yourselves who are far more knowledgable than me, but I can give it a safe and secure place until resolved and relieve Lynn of her 'guest'.

I've given Lynn a ring and I'm planning to pick the bird up tomorrow evening (if not claimed beforehand)from when I'll try to reunite it with its rightful owner. Lynn's being doing a great job feeding and watering it - I'll be sure to let her know how much efforts such as hers are appreciated. From the description it would appear it's probably some kind of fancy pigeon??

I'm not sure, but I had seen it before on an earlier post where there seemed to be lots of experienced folk suggesting it was pukka. From Johns earlier description I thought it was this clip he was referring to and TBH if he believes it works thats good enough for me.

Is this the one?

Hello David, they look perfect and I would be very grateful for them. As I'm so new I really don't know about or who to use for a courier service - do you have any suggestions? Also, what approximate age are they?

Hi David, I got a notification of your PM but when I opened it there wasn't anything there, probably me or my computer at fault. I'll try to 'reply' to your PM, perhaps you'd be kind enogh to resend. Oh, and thank you for your support Henrik.

Hello, is anyone able to help with a couple of late bred birds preferably squeekers (so I can have them out flying in the not too distant future). I'm happy to pay and am in the West Mids. As said earlier I'm looking to use them to learn how to look after racing pigeons properly but would ultimately like to breed from and use them, probably in 2012 so while being 'great' birds isn't a priority something useful for the future would be greatly appreciated - they'll be going to a good home.

Hi Geo, I've read your questions and the answers you've got with interest as they're one's I'm really interested in - I'm thinking YBS, training, ventilation etc etc. This is what has convinced me of how little I know and how much there is to learn!!!

Thanks Rasbull, it's something I've wanted to do for quite a while. I've been reading this site for quite a while now and have been hugely impressed by the advice which is so freely given and whilst there's not always universal agreement over all issues it always reflects honest opinion - and you can't ask more than that. So whilst I'm determined to start really small (so as to keep my mistakes small) I do feel as though there is a really good support network out there to help me grow my team.

Hello, I am looking to restart in pigeon racing, something I last enjoyed as a boy 25 years ago. Obviously things have changed/evolved over the years and I don't want to delude myself that I know anything like enough to jump straight back into it. My intention is to start with a couple of squeakers and learn to look after them properly, especially aspects such as nutrition and setting up regular routines etc before starting to get a team together. To that end I am asking if anyone in the West Mids area might have a couple of birds I could purchase. Whilst breeding isn't a priority it would be good to have something that I could potentially use in the future - probably in 2012. I live in Telford. Thanks.

Hello, I've been reading most of the posts on the forum now for a good few months and very informative they are too - there's a real wealth of experience here with information and help freely given, this is a real credit to the sport. I don't keep birds at the moment because of the nature of my job but am really looking forward to keeping them again soon (I last had them as a boy some 30 years ago but the interest has never left!!), anyway my question is regarding the number of BOP attacks - do sparrowhawks and peregrines ever take wood pigeons, I suspect if they do it's not in any great number but why not - is it because they are a bit bigger than racers?
