Copied from Facebook 21st February 2026 **People of Bellsmyre** Can anyone with CCTV cameras or ring door bells please check them for last night Friday 20.02 in to this morning Saturday 21.02 Sadly woke up to find an attempt has been made to burn down my Pigeon Loft, which backs on to the path between Valeview Terrace and Bellsmyre Avenue.. This looks like the route the culprit has taken and thrown a lit petrol can and rubbish bag over the fence.. A horrendous act trying to hurt defenceless birds sleeping on their nest 🥲 If anyone has any info please PM me.. thanks Please everyone feel free to Share this

Copied from Facebook 20th February 2026 SAVE THE DATE! I have booked the Lord Byron for our Fed prize presentation on Saturday 7th November. NO tickets,it will be self funding. Plan is to provide our own buffet and the bar manager will source a DJ at a cost of £200. I can (Elaine)provide sandwiches and coleslaw to kick off buffet, any ideas or donations would be welcome. I will run a raffle to offset cost of DJ and again any donations for raffle would be appreciated. Support from members family and friends is essential as we need a decent turn out to make it worth the bar’s time opening cocktail lounge and providing staff. If unable to attend a small donation to the Fed through Willie Davidson to help cover costs would be great, thanks in advance The last night out at the Byron went really well a few years ago and hopefully this year will be as good. Feel free to get in touch or comment on our page. Let’s make it a night to remember! Regards, James Cowie

Thought this may be helpful racing pigeon clubs in windermere uk +12 Racing pigeon clubs in the Windermere and surrounding Cumbria area generally operate under the umbrella of the West Cumbria Amalgamation or Cumbria Region of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association (RPRA). While Windermere itself may not have a central, public-facing club building, several nearby clubs in the South Lakes area serve the region. The Royal Pigeon Racing Association +2 Active Pigeon Clubs & Federations in the Area Millom Social Flying Club: A nearby club in the region that holds active racing seasons, with members competing in the Cumbria Combine and NWGN. Egremont Fancy Pigeon Society/Club: A well-known club in West Cumbria that has expanded to include a new mid-week racing club. West Cumberland Federation & Derwent Valley Federation: These larger bodies cover many local clubs in the broader region. How to Find Local Clubs in Windermere For the most accurate, up-to-date information on clubs specifically within the Windermere area, it is recommended to contact the local RPRA regional secretary for the Cumbria Region: Cumbria Region Secretary: Mr L Blacklock, 32 Lonsdale Street, Workington, Cumbria CA14 2YD (Tel: 01900 62346).

Copied from Facebook 15th February 2026 GLASGOW FEDERATION CHAMPION 2021 - winning The Jack McGougan Memorial - Mr Patrick Doherty Snr of Linwood. Top Honours in the Glasgow Federation for the 2021 Season went to the Linwood Lofts of Patrick Doherty Snr, being crowned Glasgow Federation Champion winning The Jack McGougan Memorial Cup. The ‘Sprint Cup’ for the best average of the first five OB Races was added to the trophy haul in a season which seen Paddy tally up 6 x 1sts in the strong Barrhead Club as well as 5 x 1st Federation and a total of 39 Federation Prize Cards. These modest back garden lofts are no stranger to success with Paddy winning at Club and Federation for many years as well as numerous top Section and Region positions with the SNFC. A recent 1st Section from the SNFC YB National as well as a Bronze Award for his top racing cock ‘Con-Ker’ , which scored an incredible 11 times from SNFC races, including being 15th Open from the SNFC Gold Cup in 2018 flying 550 miles on the night, has put Paddy’s name and his family of birds firmly on the map in the West of Scotland. The Natural method is employed with the OBs and the Darkness System with the YBs. Paddy being from the ‘old school’ is an extremely hard task master with every pigeon earning its perch for the winter. No fancy fads here just good honest pigeons worked hard from a dedicated fancier. Van Dyck ‘Kannibal’ lines and Jan Aardens make up the main base of the family, as well as recent introductions in the way of gifts from very good friends Alasdair Maclean of Oban and Roy Davies of Wales, to whom Paddy is most grateful. A smashing guy, a smashing fancier and a smashing team of doos. The Prince of Linwood - Patrick Doherty 🍀 Maybe we will sit over a wee hawf in the near future and do a more in depth loft report. Jonesy 💃🏼
