dovescot did the vet tell you how the birds catch meningitis? Would have been first question would have asked

you are right some pigeons are carriers of salmonela, and some pigeons get it, the once that get it and recover can also be carriers from then on

couldnt find anything on web about pigeon form of meningitis that pigeons can catch.

he never gave it to the pigeons he kept his dogs outside, they used to go to the dog bowl and eat the dogs food from there

i know many years ago a fancier in my areas pigeons used to eat dog food, boy did they fly well, lead to believe at the time his birds flew out of there skins
