don,t feed them next time before letting them out, keep them hungry, they,ll soon come in if this is their first time out, and they are able to fly to the house roof, I think you may have left it a bit late to let them out for the first time. Get them out early, so that they have a good look around before taking flight JMO

Just had my young team scattered by a hawk, one dead minus it,s head :'(

Next door neighbour just informed me one of my birds was lying between his wheelie bins dead, he said he heard a noise and when went to investigate, he saw a HAWK on top of a pigeon, when I looked the poor youngster was minus it,s head, it was my first bred youngster this year :'( IS IT ALL REALY WORTH IT???????
