whilst they were on darkness , i used to basket train them, and give them very short tosses 3 ,4 miles in all directions at 10 weeks old , i beleive their better trained in the basics , sooner the better ,,,,made it far easier to start trainig properly , with less losses , when put on full daylight,

one time asked neighbour to time in as i was working at the time,, beautifull sunny day, when i got back , there was about half bag of grub on the floor ,,asked him" what was the first bird" " that meally there" ;D ;D that" meally " was a blue bar ,, he had very dark sunglasses on,,,,,at least he did his best ;D ;D

still using this [not the same shavings ;D] bucket it every few weeks , but sprayed regular with spray, jeyes fluid [house hold ] bone dry , never had any illness since being down , plenty fresh air in loft also

had problems b4 with them , but have to say the last few times they were great, [the same driver] i think the problem is ,,they have it all their own way,, a little competition ,[ a cheaper one at that ] would do them no harm :-/

this is caused by depluming mite,, that eats at the base of the chest and neck feathers ,, i have used the old fashioned carbolic soap in the past ,, rubbing on twice per week makes a mess, but it works ,, problem is the feathers have to moult as the root of the feather is still in ,, there are many more modern methods, im quite sure the members will advise,, good luck

this i find, a most decent post of tammies, and a most down to earth post ,, in my experience with the webmaster , have found him to be a most honest and intelligent young chap,, if the webmaster formed this committee, i would certainly put my trust in this committee also,,,,, i, like many others, was wondering, why the lack of news , we know know why, that is good enough for me,,,,, i think we should all feel proud that we now have this fund and feel sure many genuine fanciers will benefit from this , my sincere wishes to mark and feel sure he will be gratefull at the end of the day,,,,,maybe , a little patience , a little trust , a little humanity, is what we all need now, and we will have the satisfaction of knowing that each one of us that has donated , will be helping someone less fortunate than ourselves.

when we used to keep birds in the[ yard] this was a yard where there were greyhound men car repairers , wood cutters [giant saw] motor bike repairers ,, all a great crowd ;D there were at that time 5 pigeon lofts mine being one of them,, the chap opposite , who shall remain nameless ;D ;D ;D, wandered in to his loft absolutely sozzled [ it was a sat, he was last that day, ;D] he had outside flaps for his drinkers [didnt even here me shouting on him ;D] proceeded to take a half bottle of rum,, poured it into his drinker muttering ," ill sort yous lot out this this week" ;D ;D ;D he then staggered out,, at that time i drank [i dont now] went over from my loft , took the drinker sat on my easy chair, at my loft and drank the lot ;D ;D ;D fell asleep , won 3 nationals , topped the fed 6 times every one a pooler ;D ;D ;D ;D then i woke up ,,,,ill,,, ;D ;D ;D this is true and the chap involved does not beleive me to this day ;D ;D ;D[ no wonder ;D ;D ;D]
