I think sprint pigeons could come home from 500 miles but it could maybe take them twice as long i would certainley prefer breeding off birds that were proven distance performers than taking chances with sprinter etc But thats only my opinion and im as daft as a brush and no even raced yet so i could be talking my mince than anything

How often do you clean your boxes out during breeding?
