Copied from Facebook Congratulations to Mr & Mrs D Quantrill from Lowestoft Provisional 1st Open Harkers Fraserburgh Race. David and Sheila were still in shock when I visited this morning, saying they couldnāt believe they had won! When David was told he could no longer drive due to health reasons, he had to think on his feet regarding how he could get his pigeons to the club each Friday eveningā¦so he made a ātransporterā from an old shopping trolley and a piece of board, the 2 baskets get put onto their transporter and they walk it round to the Ness Point Club about 10 minutes away (see photo!) They were also thrilled that in Provisional 2nd Open, was their club mate Mollie Chamberlain (Mr & Mrs Chamberlain). When Mollieās husband sadly died a while ago, Mollie took over the pigeons even though she wasnāt involved with them previously and started to fly them herselfā¦and at nearly 89 she is doing a sterling job! Sheila wanted to thank their friends and fellow club members Mel & Sue Dyer for all their help and for taking theirs and Mollieās birds on the 80 mile round trip to Norwich to be marked on Thursday morning, especially as Mel & Sue werenāt sending themselves! There will be a full race report on our website and in BHW shortly. Dilys
