frank-123 Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 pecial Train With 4760 Passengers AND ONLY FOUR CAN WALK AND TALK A special train carrying 4760 passengers, only four of whom can walk and talk, will leave Edinburgh to-morrow evening. The other 4756 fly. They are racing pigeons. The train is the Scottish National Flying Club's " pigeon special," carrying the entries for the annual Scottish pigeon " derby." l/nder the care of four convoyers, whose duty it will be to care for and feed them, they will travel to Rennes, France, where, early next Friday, weather permitting, they will be liberated to wing their way to their home lofts. This gear's entry of 4756 is a record— 403 up on last year's'. The pigeons are entered from all over Scotland, from Thurso to Annan. Thurso is 730 miles and Annan 480 miles from Rennes. Weather conditions being favourable the first birds should arrive in their home lofts on the same day as their release.
