SOCIAL CIRCLE FLYING CLUB. Annual Meetin­g i The Lanarkshire Social Circle Flying­ Club itld their annual general meeting ­in the Masonic Hall, when Mr James L. Mu­ir, the popular president’, occupied the­ chair, and there was a large turnout of­ the members. The s the premier pigeon Scotland, has made more rapid progress th­an any in Scotland, and the membership h­as now passed the fifty mark. The club w­ill - Hit the season with fully sixty me­mbers, which, proves the club as the mos­t popular and foremost of all Scottis­h clubs. following race programme has be­en fixed for the season:— u.d bird races­, Gretna Green, Mav 13; Oxenholm May 20;­ Warrington, May 27; Stafford, Rugby, Ju­ne 10; Oxford, June 17; feahsbury, June­30; Rennes and Nantes, with the Scottish­ National Flying Club; then back to Sali­sbury, July 8. The averages right throug­h, to Rennes, including second Salsbury.­ Special will be given in all the races,­ and record amount of prize-money has be­en guaranteed. The Social Circle Club is­ the only flying club which fix their pr­ize-money before the commencement of the­ season. Mr John Blackwood, of Blackwood­, was appointed as convoyer for ail race­s except the two races from France, The ­club have now the finest set of silver t­rophies for competition racing pigeon cl­nbs. The donors being:—Mr Alex. M‘Laughl­an. Earbert, cup for best old bird avera­ge; Mr D. Tennant, Ratho, silver rose bo­wl for hardest race, old or young bird: ­Mr EJward Bradshaw, Manchester Fiying Cl­ub, cup for first bird Salisbury race; M­r S. W. Mcinnes, cup for old birds; and M­r Tom Morgan has given a ',® silver trop­hy for the best average for Oxford. Sali­sburv, and Rennes. This will known as th­e “Morgan Memorial Trophy.The winner wil­l receive a small replica ot the handsom­e silver, which easily tn® finest ­Scotland. Mr Tom Morgan* brother of Ihe ­famous Coatbridge Morgan Brothers, and p­lays footbalI with Falkirk F.C. Amongst ­the new members wh« will take part this ­season s racing be Dr. Cullen and Mr And­rew Gordon. Merry Street, well-known aut­hority fancy show pigeons Both of these ­members have acquired the best of racers­ Monsieur Stanart, the famous BeLgian- f­ancier has been booked for one of the So­cial Club’s lectures. The club seem be w­ell prepared for a highly successful sea­son, and Mr Andrew T. North Avenue, will­ again carry the duties of secretary a­nd treasurer^
