Guest Hairylayer Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Finished converting the shed and I'm pleased with how it's come out, been back since I took the photo and sealed all the small gaps up with silicone out side to get rid of the drafts And finished felting the roof.just need to work out which louvers to get.Nothing special but I'll build a nice one one day. What would be the best thing to paint the exterior with to make sure it stays waterproof?
Delboy Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Creosote is good enough m8.Good luck m8, enjoy your new loft and pigeons.
Leroy Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Looks good enough to me mate, good job well done. I use any old wood preserver, but do a fair few coats to make sure I get every spot. Just one word of advice, whichever pair of birds use the nest box on the floor will also defend and occupy the floor space directly in front so keep the feeder and drinker well away otherwise the other birds will have to fight for them, or raise the boxes up a foot or two off the floor if you can. All the best Lee
Guest Hairylayer Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Thanks For the tip Lee I'll put the boxes up a bit, still need to make a couple more Boxes up as well.
THE FIFER Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Masonary paint is good m8, dries quick no smell and fills gaps, good for inside loft as well
