Pigeons need a lot of calcium to create good, hard shells, so most incidences of shell-less eggs are related to not having enough calcium in the diet. Young hens may lay a shell-less egg before they begin to lay eggs for the first time, If they are on a proper diet and have grit, minerals, they should have all the calcium they need. They also need Vitamin D and a proper balance of other vitamins so they can process the calcium.

Thanks for the reply m8.. Birds have plenty of fresh grit, minerals and pick stone daily..I've not had a problem with jelly eggs until today but the bit I can't understand is the hen laying two eggs in 4 hours
