Looks like thee was some thought about reintroducing them a wee while back.

the leftie protectionists also have had other experiences with eagle owls

trough of bowland , Lancashire , where the RSPB was quick to point the finger at gamekeepers for supposedly killing hen harriers was proved to be a pair of nesting eagle owls eating and predating the harriers

also of note is the reintroduction of the white tailed sea eagle against the wishes of people who have to make a living sheperding sheep but the RSPB went ahead with the reintroduction anyway

in America the eagle owl was helped into decline in the 1970s/early 1980s for predating ,..............peregrine falcon nests

I cannot see eagle owls being left to gain a foothold in England again while the peregrine is still in vouge
