For me a win is a win, whether it be a club race or a national race, you still have to put the work in to get the bird into the right form for the race. Why dont people just get on with their own birds and if they get beat then try harder, if you try harder and are still getting beat, look at you loft and birds to see what you are doing wrong. Its supposed to be a hobby at the end of the day, something to help you relax after a day at work, not something to take as serious as most people seem to. If you get beat in your club, dont think of ways to get out of it, go and shake the mans hand who has beat you, as unless you put the work in that they have you won't consistently beat them. We had a bloke in our club a few years back, and I loved watching his birds come back, they came like bullets and just streamed in one after the other at any distance, he had all day with them and knew exactly how to condition them, he had the perfect loft set up and was rarely beaten. Instead of congratulating him for his hard work, he was hated by most in the club and the backstabbing that went on was shocking, so he eventually moved clubs. This is the reason I moved my loft into my garden, to get away from the backstabbing that goes on and to enjoy my HOBBY.

This not setting a clock thingie is in short showing total disrespect for our birds. Those little creatures fly their hearts out for us,and come home to us many times flying through bad weather conditions, hawk attacks and liberations that should never have taken place.

 

Not to have that bird on the result sheet is a total disgrace and think about it, by your bird not being entered in the race could give false result clubwise.

 

You should move to America Ben, there's loads of room for another Monday Morning quarter Back.

this is why i gave up racing pigeons about 15/20 years ago,still backbiting and endless rows,i just have my many fancy pigeons for fun and enjoyment,no clubs,arguing,clock setting,ypm,etc,,,,,,no wonder young poeple not taking up sport,most fanciers on here are 100% genuinely helpfull,the very few are now turning it into a circus,,,,if cap fits and all that!!!!!   for the genuine fancier YOUR ALL BRILLIANT,cull the rubbish on here?    probably i will be culled now ??????

the world would be a dull place if we were all the same but if all you are in the sport for is to put others down and make yourself feel better you must be a very sad person and as you dont know me or my brother in person really your opinion doesn't really bother me as those who know us personally will know what we are really like  good people who are good inside can you say that about yourselves as you are putting it across that you know us personally also that you think people with learning difficulties are  and should be  treated like second class citizens yes i did use some abusive language on the forum in the past but have also been man enough to put up a post to say i was out of order i will stay a member this year for my club but the looks of things this could be my last season as i dont want to be associated with so many back stabbers and people who hide behind false id's

Ben, if you read my post, I say you need to work hard to win at any level, no hard work - no wins! And stop trying to argue with me, Im just stating this is a HOBBY and if you want to enjoy it the formation of break away clubs and arguing etc. will in the long run destroy it.
