greenbar Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 was reading page 18 in todays sun, wind turbines kill more birds of prey ,than poisoning or shooting.so how many of our pigeons get killed ,hitting the blades nothing said about them,
ally mac Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 my father had a wind generator on his roof when I moved the loft to the plot behind his house, lost two doos that flew into it. Cut the poor things in half. It wasn't a great success anyway so we took it down. It certainly spun a lot faster than the big ones though. I took a walk up to a wind farm not far from here and had a wander about looking for dead birds but never saw any signs, also spoke to a pal that works on them and asked about birds but he had never seen any signs of dead ones either.
THE FIFER Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 think they are big enough to see and the props dont go fast, the problem i see is those on very high ground along the Forth, birds would have to go high or around them ,
Guest chad3646 Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 the rspb said there was a lot of bats being killed by the wind turbines, no mention of birds
