Guest Owen Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Providing that the birds have been vaccinated and are fit there is no reason why they can't produce youngsters. I wouldn't do it myself because you would be breeding with unproven birds and even the ones that have won young bird races need to do more to prove that they are worth breeding from. People are continually going on about losing their birds but still carry on breeding from birds that have not proven their worth by gaining results racing. Sometime if you are very lucky you can get good racers from unraced breeders but the odds against it are high. Even good racers do not always produce the best youngsters but in the long run breeding from a family of winners is far more likely to produce winners for you. Three of my young bird fed winners this year were from parents that have scored in the Fed and all of them are related.
