Oldpigeonclocks Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 As a new member I will first introduce myself. My name is Gerwin Basch and I live in the Netherlands. My hobby is restoring and collecting pigeon clocks. My grandfather started selling pigeon clocks right after WW2. In the Netherlands there were only a few clocks left, so he started buying them in Belgium and selling them in the Netherlands. Later he made many inventions to improve pigeon clocks, but unfortunately he died very young. My father than took over the company and later became sole agent for Benzing in the Netherlands. I have studied watchmaker, and worked a year in the Benzing factory but started a company with plastic cards, www.unipas.nl As a hobby I started restoring old pigeon clocks and later I started collecting. At this moment I have in my pigeon clock museum about 250 different clocks from all over the world. Most of the time however my museum travels. This year I will be at the historical stand at the Olympiade in Dortmund where I am invited by the German Union. Also, every year I have my own stand in Blackpool where I show different clocks every year. To keep my hobby affordable I also sell clocks and do service to Junior clocks. People who have met me in Blackpool will know what I am talking about. I think I have a very good name in this business :-) I hope I will find some new clocks through this forum, and maybe I will be able to help some people who have problems with there clocks. If you want to see some old clocks, you can always visit my website www.pigeonclocks.com Regards, Gerwin
