As theyare my charges responsible for them in every way,I will defend them against all predators in any way I can, with apoligies to no one,and I would expect any fancier to do likewise, posibily its our "passive acceptance" of these thats most of the problem.

melin fair play too u i do the same cant belive when i hear pigeon pigeon faicers doing noting  nice too see someone talking sense and if pll belive the best way to go is to give in partitions into there polications they are only wasting there time its time every fancier done a little and problem would be solved

wonder what the rspb would think if we stooped racing for a year or two or changed our young bird season around problem is lads we are racing our birds at the right time for the birds of prey when youngers are been fed and they are flying if we changed our racing season a bit this would bring down the hawks a bit as we are putting a false amount of food in the air when they are rearing youngers might need a bit of forward thinking but something needs to be done on a massive scale  if u think about it they can rears full hatch because we put food in there mouths nd years ago i never seen pairs of falcons nest close to one another now i see it regalar just a tought here some pll might think its extreme but just think about it

Cuhsy never at any time did I ever mention breaking the law, regardless of what you think of it,its the law,now theres many other avenues you can go down with out breaking laws. There is no law against flying an Eagle Owl,watch the reaction of ANY other B.O.P. if they should encounter each other, your own eyes are your best experience,so try and watch it, this is just one method,no laws against it,and if it might escape, heaven forbid,it then may breed in the wild, and lo and behold, their offspring are then safe under a European Wildlife Bill.

yes defend them , just do it within the confines of the law ,  dont give step by step methods on how to kill em online expletive remove

been reading this with interest [as i always do when the rspb turn up disgused as a lampost or something ;D ;D ;D]may i ask how many pigeons have you lost to a hawk? [approx]as for the step by step method of killing, must of missed that part would you care to point out where in this thread it is [purely out of academic interest of course]the point about any "treatment" of hawks should off course have no part in this forum ,why give your enemy anything to bash you with, when will the rspb work out that all birds need protecting, not just the money spinners like hawks anyone want to say a big hello to the 20 "guests" logged in at the moment ;D ;D ;D

cushy to change the minds of this lot is INPROBABLE because they have no lives outside of pigeon racing

No doubt it Just Ask Me,you have actually nailed whats probably the kernel of this problem, racing pigeons, racing time coincides nicely with raptors breeding cycle, with a ready supply of protein available at all time, consequently all raptors are given oppertunity to breed and rear full and healthy nests, many of these couldnt /wouldnt be capable of doing so if their main food supply was removed at such a crucial time, raptors are like any other species, good hunters/bad hunters with more of the latter than the former, its this artificial top class scource of easily available protein i.e our pigeons thats creating this bonanza for them. have look at to days problems, what can you imagine it to be in five years time ?

the one thing we should do, is the one thing we will never do, stop racing for a year maybe two then when they start to starve, when "joe public" sees them killing every other bird in sight  job done ;D ;D ;D

we are all on the same side here , jist some of us dont BROADCAST it on the net

my thoughts are,, yes it is nature ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but only to a certain extent ?????

is it nature for a perigrine or any other hawk to get the rspb tp build them a nest box, release a few pairs here and there, and know quite well" no one can touch them",,,,,,,,,,no, ,this is not nature,  this is the rspb playing god .

in my opinion this needs broadcasting , and make the public aware EXCACTLY whats happening to our song birds etc, as its very obvious [around here anyway ] that there are very few songbirds in a place which used to be a haven for them,,,,,see  the nature reserve pics on the hawks topic , thats next to me ,,,,not a bird to be seen ???
