swilcox Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Its the most over used word in Pigeon Racing!!!! Raymond won the National in Holland from St Vincent from nearly 700 miles. On that day 37,239b were entered and that was the only long distance race permitted on that day in Holland, young, old, pro novice were allowed to enter there birds through there club/combine network, there wasnt a single distance flyer that didnt have a bird in that race!! Every transporter simply goes to the same race point and libs together. NOW THATS A NATIONAL!!! Sad thing is, we in this country can run such a blue event if it was lead from the top.

Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 The SNRPC is a true national in every meaning of the word, its open to the whole country, you dont have to be a member of a particular organisation. As long as you are a member of rpra or shu you can join and race.and now we have a scottish section with the nfc,so for me thats what i would call a national. 8) 8) 8)

jimmy white Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 i have a result, cut out the rp, of an international , this was snfc where you could duplicate them into the international , this was run by usher vaux , i think this would be about 1959,,,,,,,,,it was the year beglin bros bo ness won the scottish national with high noon [a grooter ] cant get smilies ,,,,,,,,,,,,,my dad and i hadnt joined the national but could send to this,, if my memory serves me right , we were about 90th international with" the wegge" surp 57 ed 367 true, " smile",,,,,,,,,,boy, what a memory ha ha
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 just a thought, if its open to the whole country, why is it called a Scottish National ? Yes but haveing now teamed up with the NFC it is opened to the whole nation, which in return is a national.
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Oh nearly forgot its called the SNRPC because its based in scotland, which is part of the united kingdom 8) 8) 8)
THE FIFER Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 no doubt if the SNFC is open to the uk its really an international, as it involves 2 nations, but you say teamed up with the NFC which one is the races going under the NFC or the SNRPC
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 International means more than one counrty, but we are part of a union which the others are also considered to be part of the country.not like holland and belgium which have no relation to each other at all 8) 8) 8)
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Does that mean you are being convoyed with the NFC birds yes and we have our own marking station for saintes
THE FIFER Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Yes but haveing now teamed up with the NFC it is opened to the whole nation, which in return is a national. what club is open to the whole nation, the NFC or the SNRPC ?
DOVEScot Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 International means more than one counrty, but we are part of a union which the others are also considered to be part of the country.not like holland and belgium which have no relation to each other at all 8) 8) 8) Vincent, if you are saying Scotland is a nation as in SNRP then surely if you compete against another nation say Wales, Ireland or England then it has to be considered an International, we can't have it both ways
Guest chrisss Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 International means more than one counrty, but we are part of a union which the others are also considered to be part of the country.not like holland and belgium which have no relation to each other at all 8) 8) 8) but they are members of the european union, the same way as the uk is a union of different countries,so in a technical sense a race from scotland into england is an international!!!![each country has a seperate parlament with its own law makers, ego different countries]
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 the two are open to any persons who wish to join.
THE FIFER Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 International means more than one counrty, but we are part of a union which the others are also considered to be part of the country.not like holland and belgium which have no relation to each other at all 8) 8) 8) so someone in portsmouth could be flying against someone in thurso, ?? what would the overfly be :
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 but they are members of the european union, the same way as the uk is a union of different countries,so in a technical sense a race from scotland into england is an international!!!![each country has a seperate parlament with its on law makers, ego different countries] at the end of the day are you europien or Brittish, whats on your pasport, not seen many Scottish ones lately
THE FIFER Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Vincent, if you are saying Scotland is a nation as in SNRP then surely if you compete against another nation say Wales, Ireland or England then it has to be considered an International, we can't have it both ways agree with you ,this is what i cant understand about a race being for the whole country, say ur race from SAINTES, what would be the distance for a fancier in portsmouth and one in thurso, how could they possibly race against each other,??
Guest Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 so someone in portsmouth could be flying against someone in thurso, ?? what would the overfly be : your chances of competeing with the south of England, have no relation to the thread its about the concept of nationals
