I don't think any pigeon fancier would expect a payment for looking after someone else's pigeon, I've never known anyone ask for payment when our birds have been reported.  I think Chris Maidment forgot to mention that he was suspended over that issue, and his story is slightly somewhat wrong

When I collect a bird from either a member or non member I always offer to reimburse any expenses but have never had money taken or taken money from others.

If we can't help each other then its a sad world.

In this case it appears to have been a genuine mistake by the finder so why blame everybody else concerned including the WHPU!

I agree with strapper, so let's get this story right, this bird was reported wrongly to the whpu by the finder, the owner as such sent for the bird and paid amtrak £30, who then seen the ring number was wrong and reported to whpu and found out the bird belonged to Chris Maidment, who then paid the £30 back and the cheque bounced.  I am led to believe that the fancier concerned did have proof of payment to amtrak. So yes there's always two sidefrom fs to every story and yes we've all read the minutes

fancier did not report bird  he got my wing 4 flights each wing i got abusive call  from him  and no you have not read all the minutes  i phoned amtrax who stated in writeing  they made no delevery   and if your who i think you are you know   the truth

i o was suspended  for failing to comply with whu dicision  at what was a hanging  the the  whu paid for pres bird     but he stated that was irrelavent     seems  its all  one

my last word on this matter is any whu birds collected in our working enviorment gwent  will be charged to whu at acost of 30 plus 1 per keep  as councle approved pest control company       i have taken hundreds back at no cost    and  on subject of one sided   were  was proof in  meeting  of his cost

Sorry to disappoint you but I am pretty sure you do not know who I am, but I have had the story from different people who also know you and the truth, but after saying that I think it's time that this was put to bed as it's getting a little tiresome reading all this nonsense, let's just race our pigeons and hope the strays get reported to the whpu
