Hey Chris, try using a spellchecker your grammar is awful and your clearly one angry person which if I'm being honest it nearly put me off joining here.   What are 'WE' all unhappy about as you mention?  Who designated you as spokeperson for us or have you been elected to some kind of post while I was away on holidays?  I'm a member of the RPRA and although know who you are didn't realize you were our deligate or are you electing yourself?  Sorry to sound so negative but your post was embarrassing.

as first posts go this is the proverbial ' hospital pass'....welcome to the site. chris only has the fancys best interests at heart

dwayne in all honesty..i feel ur post(especially ur 1st) is arguementive towards chris who is trying his best.

we dont all agree with wot chriss has to say at times, but starting ur 1st post with wot u have isnt embarressing for anyone but urself.

i would have thought ur 1st post would have been constructive instead of being destructive to the forum.

chill out ,no one bites in here unless provoked.

i dont think taking the pizz out of someone with spelling errors is exactly the way u should be heading.

im not trying to cause a debate about this but trying to show u, that theres a lot to learn if one try,s to get on with members of the site.

It's not argumentative at all, nor was it to take the p*ss, I could have done that in lots of ways as I know Chris personally and he's a bit of a mouth if I'm being honest.  Talk is cheap, setting up an organisation is expensive and a logistical nightmare and If I was wanting a representative to talk to, or write to major organisations I'd want it done in a professional manner and poor spelling isn't one of them.

I am not a pigeon person but i love birds. Chris was a great help to me a  couple of weeks ago when trying to return the pigeon which has again found its way back to me. Thanks to Chris I was able to re-unite bird and owner ( for what it was worth ). As an outsider Chris, the idea sounds great. Dont let them grind you down. Thanks again for your help.

I'm not saying for one second that Chris hasn't got a heart of gold dovehome, I'm betting he has hidden under that teak exterior.  The problem I see is that hearts of gold don't cut it when it comes to putting ideas into action.  Its going to be a logistical nightmare not just setting an organised system up but more importantly maintaining it long term.  People come, people go, ideas come, ideas go, if this was viable it would have been done a long time ago.

Don't raise to the bait Chris, people should be allowed to agree to disagree which goes for both of you.  I for one think your idea is admirable if not fully certainly parts of it and I've said as much on the phone to you, and this is even though I have a courier service.

The reason I don't think the idea has any real legs is the cost, certainly over longer distances, people seem to think running a courier service is a licence to print money, I can tell you and anyone else it isn't, and with the price of petrol and diesel only getting higher its going to get tougher.

My honest opinion for what its worth is that both of you have good points even though I did not like the un-needed jibe by this dwaynepipe, not on my xmas card list just yet.   The problems that come with setting up any type of volunteer based system is pretty much dealt with by dwaynepipe (Drain Pipe, I got it as well).   You might well be enthusiastic and so may a few others but even short deliveries cost a small fortune and nothing is going to take away from that fact.  People will also get bored, get old, or get out, arguments over who will run what will happen and communications will break down, even volunteers need money to pay for petrol so you'd have to go for charitable status and run it as such, I could go on and on.

On a positive note I do think that a holding system between fanciers could work well with couriers like my company and we'd be more than prepared to pass on this benefit by being able to reduce prices.   We're already cheaper than Amtrak (and better dare I say) because of the input by people like you, and if we had some sort of holding system in place where my staff could quickly go to fetch the pigeons we'd possibly be able to go even cheaper without compromising on service and still remain a viable operation so it would be a win win situation for all and that's what its about.

thank you jame for a realistic answer you were one i dicussed re lofts to hold birds brought by transporters to collection points and then delivered throughout wales
Your welcome Chris, sometimes it takes someone to come in and referee a fight before it gets out of hand.  I'm not saying this dwayne is all wrong but the way he came about it certainly was.  Transport is always going to be a bone of contention among fanciers and flyers as nobody wants to pay out money to recover their pigeons, they cost enough as it is.  Unfortunately pigeon racing by its nature means this is going to happen, although it doesn't mean we all can't work together on a solution that eases the burden of the fanciers pocket without compromising on quality of service.

I'm working on a zoning system at the moment Chris and will keep you and everyone in the loop as and when, and if there's any input that can be given I'd be more than happy to hear from you all, the one thing I do that others haven't in the past (Amtrak come to mind) is listen and learn, it doesn't matter if you can spell or can't if the message is clear that's all that counts, you did just fine on that score.

Without going into war and peace I'd say one thing is absolutely vital and that's for the left hand to let the right hand know what its doing, that way we don't end up pulling in opposite directions, the left and the right being the owner and the courier.
