  1. Hi Josh. I gave George Foster a call like you said. However wasnt much use I am afraid. He said the owner was from Barnsley ( I am Nr Cardiff ?? ). I called the owner in Barnsley who says he no longer keeps birds? Asked if he had sold it to anyone ? He thinks he may of sold it to a guy in Bradford? No more info. Owner asked If I would keep the bird so I thought what choice have I .The guy hadnt even transfered ownership through George Foster. Any suggestions !!!!!!
  2. I shall give George Frost a call tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
  3. Not really Josh. Its a lovely bird who makes itself at home lol . I dont fancy driving the damn thing up north if its owner lives up there. I have returned a pigeon to its owner twice off this forum already the last month or so.
  4. About 6 months. I have been unable to get near it until yesterday when I caught it. I dont want the address yet just what part of the country he is likely to come from.
  5. No I dont keep pigeons Josh. I have a few Doves thats all. Where is this guy from?
  6. Hi There The bird ring No. is 6986AERC 07 Cheers
  7. I have a stray bird here from the All England Roller Club. I am in Wales. Can anyone fill me in as to what is the AERC please. Cheers
  8. ALBEAR As I explained I no longer have my business i sold it. As for struggling well. I dont think so. You dont stay in business for 26 years and struggle Sorry to disappoint. I do have a few million ££ in the bank though thank you !! As for delivering for pigeon fanciers..... sorry wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. Just to put the record straight I am no longer in the transport business. Thankfully!!
  9. Rooster you fanciers may be paying the bills. However there is a tiered delivery system. If you want what is called white glove delivery where the fancier calls all the shots thats fine. The bird will be at your address anywhere in the country at whatever time you want However you will have to pay Jamie approx £500 for the service. Lets now see how much you love your pigeons ??? What you are paying doesnt even cover his costs at the moment. You have the poor guy dancing all over the place for a pittance. Who would be running around scotland at 3am in the morning trying to deliver a bloody pigeon. I bet you wouldnt?
  10. Hi I agree there Delboy. Its a double edged sword. The guy needs your support as much as you need his service. You should all be aiming for the same goal. So fairness is needed on the fanciers side ( dont keep him waiting 25-30 min/drop). When that is achieved Jamie then wont have an excuse for running late. Unless of course traffic dictates. I think what may help Jamie is a computerised routing system which will give you delivery/collection times. He can then inform the fancier if its an AM or PM delivery/collection. The system is easy to operate and is very good indeed. It used to route 300-350 lorry loads a week for me no problem. You input the address and delivery date press a button and it routes all your deliveries for you. You can set your own parameters on it. Such as what time you are delivering till. Just a thought !!!!
  11. As usual you are talking through your backside. Try sitting down and giving it a rest. Who delivered washing M/c and Wardrobes ???? Pigeons or anything else is important to the people who are at home waiting. Your self importance is astounding but not unexpected !!
  12. No Chris all quiet at the Mo.I think the guy has shacled that pigeon . Although I do have another 2 strays that I cant capture lol. I give up lol.
  13. Hi Jamie As a non-fancier or better known as a Numpty I really feel sorry for you. Some, not all, of these guys want their cake and eat it. I think you are on to a loser with these guys. I may not be a fancier but I am very well known in the logistics world having operated over 100 vehicles and employed over 150 employees for over a quarter of a century. I have now sold my business to one of the largest high street retailers. I specialised my businesses in the home delivery market. So I feel well positioned in commenting. Firstly the people who are obviously not happy with your considerable efforts should find other ways to transport their birds. In fact I personally would go one step further and, ban collection and deliveries from the ungrateful peasants. Maybe then they would realise the effort you put in during the early days of this venture. Secondly make it known that when you arrive to collect the birds they are to be boxed and ready for shipment. Failure to comply to your companies rules will result in an extra £17.50 charge. This covers 20 minutes waiting time. Also when you arrive at an address and the person has gone out, there is again a £17,50 charge and you leave without the bird. It can be collected or delivered at your convenience at the normal price+ £17.50 on your next trip. All the punters understand is if it hits their pockets it hurts. Therefore they wont do it. This does work. I know from experience. You will find instantly you will gain a little well earned respect and the day will run a lot smoother knocking hours off your unpaid delivering hours. Therefore making you and your company a lot more efficient whilst improving the standards of delivery to your many loyal supporters. Good luck with this venture and keep your chin up.
  14. I am not a pigeon person but i love birds. Chris was a great help to me a couple of weeks ago when trying to return the pigeon which has again found its way back to me. Thanks to Chris I was able to re-unite bird and owner ( for what it was worth ). As an outsider Chris, the idea sounds great. Dont let them grind you down. Thanks again for your help.
  15. Pigeon WHU 2008 N 03257. This bird latched on to my doves and I returned it to its owner last week. It has again come back to me. If the owner of the bird sees this on here please come and get the damned thing.
  16. Hi all Thank you for your help. Found the owner of the bird . They are about 40-50 miles away. I am taking it back to the owner this afternoon. A happy ending all round. Thanks again Dave
  17. Hi all I still have had no response from the owner of the above bird. I have 3 lost pigeons mingling with my doves? I would guess they are from the same owner? Can anyone help. I dont want to destroy the pigeons but I dont want them breading either!! Cheers

  21. Hi I keep doves and have recently taken in some visitors . I managed to catch one today and the details on the ring were W.H.U 2008 N 03257. Where can I find the owners address so I can return the bird safely. It seems in very good condition and is pretty used to being handled. If anyone has lost the bird or can help it would be much appreciated.
