Walter swanston Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Earlier today I contacted a fancier about a stray yearling lost from a race. The fancier told me that he was quite happy with my offer to drive the pigeon up the road a bit and release it so that hopefully it could fly home. At which point he told me that the bird would then be "for the bin". The bird in question is a bright healthy looking blue hen which I now feel entitled to keep. What is the opinion of forum members on a situation such as this
Guest numpty01 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 well report it but dont think you can keep it as its his but i personally would tell him to send for it and if he wants kill 30quid then he needs help

Guest HighSpeedLofts Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 how will you know they are useless spence spence? birds that dont win races take 2 days to come home from the easiest of races
Guest numpty01 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 oh i see so to you that means they are no good well a lot birds are slow and can seem dull but then suddenly turn into great ones but if you cull every slow bird under 3 years old you aint going far there are a lot more things to concider like what they are bred for sprint distance or just fun
Guest HighSpeedLofts Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 oh i see so to you that means they are no good well a lot birds are slow and can seem dull but then suddenly turn into great ones but if you cull every slow bird under 3 years old you aint going far there are a lot more things to concider like what they are bred for sprint distance or just fun ok il keep all my birds up to 3 year olds would you like the rest that are too old stopped laying filing eggs etc i think they would enjoy the farm
Guest numpty01 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 listen its simple really you do what you want with youer birds and i will put mine up the farm to have cushy life and if you want cull birds because they are not fast enough again thats youer choice
