Having not heard from the BHW editor i sent an e-mail this morning to ask the outcome of there monthly meeting and received the following response:-

Hi Mr Crawford

We had our meeting on Wednesday and I put your suggestions to the BHW Management Committee, but after quite a lengthy discussion they decided against the questions and answer page in the BHW. They stated that if members have any issues at all these can currently be discussed with their Region Secretary.

Clearly the RPRA do not want to communicate with the membership with open questions and answers!

Phil

What are the RPRA afraid of?

If you address any questions to your region sec regarding the activity of the RPRA they never want to get involved or know the answers.

To me just shows how they are realy not interested in what the membership that pay there wages have to say!

now now pjc you know the regonal sec will answer any questions you need answering after they have phoned rpra to see if its okay to ;D ;D ;D ;D

there is only one way to make the rpra sit upm and take notice and that is for every member to refuse to pay there membership next year, they cannot suspend every member for not paying there dues cos then they wont have an association will they

some of the nationals and classics were looking to break away a few years ago, its a shame they didn't!

When will they realise its the members who keep them in jobs and will start to listen to the members instead of continue to ignore them and hope they will go away?

heres something a little different but thought you all would like to see it..

its clear enough but all comes down to proving who shot the pigeon and then they can claim they didn't know the difference!

thats right phil...i recieved  that because i had my y/birds being shot for over 5years(airgun)...touch wood not this year..the police knew nothing about the laws and didnt want to really know...i told one cop to join the circus if he wanted to be a clown...my words to him after he joked about it..i clearly didnt see the funny side of it showing him a bird that had been shot through the chest.

the person i believe is doing it is around 50+....but no proof.

there was a guy on the lab forum showing his days results from rook shooting, he openly said he shoots pigeons and didn't have any interest wether woody's, ferals or racers, if they came into his range they got shot!

He wouldn't answer how many racers he'd shot.

RPRA have spent it!
on exspenses like deposit on new cars etc. lol

Good post Paul, what most people don't seem to know is there are two legal systems to help us, the criminal and civil, both can get you sent to jail yet both require different levels of proof, criminal is beyond reasonable doubt which was your problem, knowing but not really able to prove it 100% but with civil its only 51% plus of proof you need to convict and the punishment can be just as severe.   ;)

to take out action in civil courts costs you more than its worth ?? there has been no successful conviction of pigeon shooter in donkys years .and the 50quid reward by the rpra for info is a laugh and i also personally have never heard of anyone going to prison from civel action other than murderers if found not guilty by crown court then civil action by family instead

To be honest after having been warned by vallance not to speak to you I find it hard to answer this question but in the interest of helping this forum I will answer but in a polite fashion so he can't say we're having a go at each other.

  • Taking out a civil action is not expensive at all if you know the correct procedures to follow, the cost of the lawyer is the expensive part however you don't need one as one thing that our wonderful judicial system provides is the right of audience to the general public,  a little known fact is that Joe Public has more rights of audience than a solicitor does so can present his case in the highest of Courts if he/she so wishes, a solicitor can't do that, they can only go to certain courts.   All you need is someone with a very good grasp of the law and a good advocate (talker) to put the case forward.   I've not followed the cases of pigeons shooters being prosecuted so can't comment on that except to say that it is far easier to prosectute someone than people think.

  • The RPRA's reward is an insult with nothing more to say on that matter.

  • You have no reason to follow law because that's not your field of interest so in truth all you and most people get to hear is what we're told on the news, in actual fact if you check things out you will find there have been tens of thousands of succesful prosecutions in the Civil Courts both before and after criminal cases have been brought.

I know that your comments are not made to deliberately mislead anyone, your only going on what you know, and that is one thing us pigeon people have been seriously lacking is the ability to listen to each other and share the knowledge each has and then utilize it to the maximum.
