sapper756 Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Got this email today; *** UCS FIRMWARE UPDATE ***We have released version 4.1x firmware update for the black UCS ring marker, previously this was version 3.93. This is a minor update that adds some additional processes to the way in which the time is handled within the UCS making the system more robust and fault tolerantWe recommend that you update the UCS before racing commences this year. Please read the update guide before attempting to upgrade your club system or calling UNIKON support. The update can be downloaded from www.pigeon-ets.com/downloads.htm *** OTHER UPDATES *** We have no planned updates for Champ or Profi for the 2014 season. (Current version is V3.08) The current version of UNIKON Manager is v1.4.9.229 which is the same as last year.*** VERY IMPORTANT - REPLACE YOUR UCS AA BATTERIES ***If you haven’t already done so, then please make sure that you replace the two AA batteries within the UCS ring marker before the start of racing. Details on how to do is are at www.pigeon-ets.com/downloads.htmIf you find that you don’t have the AA battery pack modification, then we recommend that your club system is modified to allow the internal radio clock to be active and constantly verifying the radio clock time when the club system is not connected to power. To have the battery modification fitted we only charge for handling (except UNIKON Club members). Please remember to obtain a returns number by calling 01775 717178 before sending equipment to us.*** RADIO CLOCK TIME SIGNAL ***Don’t forget to periodically check with the NPL (National Physics Laboratory) website on the availability of the radio clock signal. When the Radio Clock is down you can strike UNIKON club system with TIM. Further details are at www.pigeon-ets.com/downloads.htm*** IMPORTANT TIP WHEN USING A UCS RING MARKER ***When storing the UCS ring marker we recommend that it is not stored in a metal box or metal container during the racing season. Being inside a metal box will shield the UCS from acquiring the radio clock time causing you problems when you need to use the Ring Marker. Shielding the club system will also decrease the UCS AA battery life as the UCS tries to continuously get the correct time.Should you experience difficulties in acquiring a radio clock time, first check with the NPL website that the radio clock signal is operational, make sure that the AA batteries are good. (After you replace the batteries leave the UCS away from any other electrical equipment and not connected to any power for 30 minutes before connecting to the Club base)If you feel that you may have been sent this email in error or you are not longer the keeper of the UNIKON Club system it is very important that you contact Claire White as soon as possible to advise us of changes. Please either email or call 01775 717178May we take this opportunity to wish and your club a successful racing season and for making UNIKON the most popular ETS in the UK and ROI Kind regards,The UNIKON Team hope this is of some help to folks
