b.massey Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Keep it simple mate... To many think there is a magic potion or thing no one knows about Couple baths, Condition seeds and good clean main feed and they'll be in good condition as long as there 100% sound I swear by the canary seed that can be purchased as a wee tit bit after main feed but thats about all I can suggest Loads of luck mate so I'll wish you some
bullcock Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 hi all ive got a couple of club shows coming up ive not done much showing only one in fact as my son is getting involved i would love him to take a card its old cocks this sunday anytips on getting um ready show pen would be great You shows are starting this Sunday, your birds will either be in great condition or not, you won't be able to bring them into great condition in a couple of days, the key is to look after them throughout the moult ensuring a good moult and keeping them a bit heavier than normal for the shows.Remember you are trying to impress the judge, so judge your own birds in the loft, look for the birds that are like oil paintings and stick out, handle them and select what you thing handle the best.Make sure they aren't at risk of dirty feathers and fighting, clean their feet and ring before going to the show, No lice!Weekly baths and a good feed with some trapping (oily) seeds to keep them in good condition over the show season. And hope yours are in better condition than the rest.Remember, even though we all like to win, don't take it too serious as these birds main purpose is racing.Enjoy taking part in the show, and good luck to you and your son.
