I heard about this on this mornings BBC news and was surprised by what they said about this being the first time its jumped from person to person. I remember back around 2006 when H5N1 was all the rage, there were a few cases that looked like it had done the same but scientists refused to accept the probability until they had concrete evidence.

Can't remember the ID of the one that was here in Britain 2/3 years ago, but it certainly infected hundreds, perhaps thousands of people we'll never know because that pandemic reached the stage that there were so many new infections each week that the medical authorities simply stopped taking stats - and there is no doubt that 'bird flu' virus spread from person to person. What more concrete evidence do they need than that, or is it a case of ignore it and its bound to go away?
